Wolves' 1-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday moved them five points clear of the Premier League relegation places and they could boost their cushion with another victory at home against Fulham on Tuesday.
The Cottagers lost 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace at the weekend and look to be meandering, sitting 10th in the table, albeit only four points adrift of the European spots.
They had won three in a row before that Palace defeat, but could struggle at Molineux, a ground where they have traditionally not fared well.
Wolves also have arguably the Premier League's best player not currently featuring for a European candidate and Saturday's matchwinner Matheus Cunha could prove crucial again.
Wolves to win - 7/4
Vitor Pereira has made a difference at Wolves since his appointment in December and Saturday's win on the south coast was another example of them showing more steel than under predecessor Gary O'Neil.
However, it was O'Neil who masterminded November's 4-1 win in the reverse game, Wolves' second in a row over Fulham.
They won last season's renewal of this fixture 2-1 - available at 10/1 - and a repeat would see Wolves do the league double over Fulham for only the second time, with the Londoners succeeding in just one of the last nine meetings and have never won at Molineux in the Premier League.
The omens don't look great for Marco Silva's side and they may have caught Wolves at the wrong time.
Pereira's team were excellent at Bournemouth, where they return this coming weekend in the FA Cup, and have now won three of their last four in all competitions, the anomaly being a competitive 2-1 defeat at Liverpool.
Fulham have won three of their last four away but have a habit of facing sides at the right time. The opposite looks likely on Tuesday and Wolves can potentially move further away from the relegation places.
Matheus Cunha anytime goalscorer - 15/8
Cunha was the hero at the Vitality Stadium, ghosting into space and lifting the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga for his 13th league goal of the season, netting for the third game in a row in all competitions.
Two of that league tally came in his side's 4-1 win at Craven Cottage, the first a lovely move that saw him juggle the ball before lifting over Bernd Leno, while his second was an equally delightful sweeping effort from distance.
Cunha appeared unsettled during the winter window but now looks focused. While it appears likely he will move on in the summer, Pereira is clearly getting the best from him in the here and now.
The 25-year-old is expected to star again on Tuesday and will relish challenging a defence that has kept only one clan sheet - away at lowly Leicester - since before Christmas.
On the scoring note, it may also be worth looking at Fulham's Raul Jimenez, with his 17 in 2019/20 making him the only player to have netted more times in a single Premier League season for Wolves than Cunha's current tally.
The Mexican is 21/10 to net at any time against his former club.
Calvin Bassey to be booked - 3/1
With Cunha in such hot form, looking at a booking for one of the Fulham defenders feels sensible.
Calvin Bassey was yellowed for fouling Jean-Ricner Bellegarde in the reverse game and could be the candidate again.
Having been a marauding left-back at Rangers, the Nigeria international is now a classy centre-half and while he has been booked five times this season, the most recent of those was in December.
However, Cunha's speed, skill and strength might cause Bassey and his usual central defensive partner Joachim Andersen issues.
While the Dane can be a touch more subtle, his younger colleague could find himself on referee Peter Bankes' radar.
