West Ham and Bournemouth meet at the London Stadium in the EFL Cup in one of just two all-Premier League ties in the second round.
The Hammers go into the game on the back of a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace, while Bournemouth have had two 1-1 draws so far.
Managers Julen Lopetegui and Andoni Iraola meet for the first time since they were in charge of Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano respectively, a La Liga clash in February 2022 which ended 1-1.
West Ham United to win - 11/10
There was nothing between West Ham and Bournemouth in the Premier League last season but the Hammers have plenty in their favour as they prepare to take on the Cherries in round two of the EFL Cup.
Both games last season ended 1-1, a scoreline that Bournemouth have managed to repeat in both their Premier League games over the first two weekends.
To complete the 1-1 theme, that was also the score when Iraola last went up against Lopetegui in 2021/22 when they were in charge of Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla respectively.
The 1-1 correct score is a 13/2 chance though the Hammers get the nod in the 90-minute market at 11/10.
Both managers will make changes, and not just because of more important Premier League opponents. Also, at this stage of the season and with big squads, there are players in both camps who Lopetegui and Iraola will want to have a look at.
The extent of those changes could well go some way to determining how to bet on the game, though home advantage should be a plus for the Hammers, as is the match schedule.
Bournemouth have had 24 hours less to prepare for this after being embroiled in a tough 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, West Ham having won at Palace 2-0 a day earlier.
And the Cherries are also on their travels on Saturday with a thankless trip to Everton, kicking off two-and-a-half hours before West Ham welcome the champions Manchester City to east London.
There is a lot to like about both managers and the outlook for both sides. But West Ham appear to have a few things in their favour that could see them land the odds.
Crysencio Summerville anytime goalscorer - 11/4
There will be several star players on both sides preparing for their first starts of the season on Wednesday night.
The likes of Jean-Clair Todibo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Niclas Fullkrug would hope to be in Lopetegui's starting XI, while Hamed Traore and Daniel Jebbison will be hoping to get the nod from Iraola.
Another player set to be in from the start is Crysencio Summerville, West Ham's £25m new purchase from Leeds United.
The 22-year-old was handed 17 minutes off the bench in West Ham's opener, the 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, but didn't even get to take his track suit off at Selhurst Park.
Summerville, a superstar in Leeds' failed promotion bid last term with 20 league goals and nine assists, will be chomping at the bit to show his new boss what he can do.
And against a reshuffled Bournemouth defence there is every chance he can shine. He looks a decent anytime goalscorer play at 11/4.
Bournemouth corner match bet - Evs
Bournemouth are evens to land corner match bet honours and that's an appealing prospect based on this season's stats, admittedly from a small sample.
West Ham have won eight corners in two games while Bournemouth have piled up 14 in their two, culminating in eight against Newcastle on Sunday.
The Cherries averaged 6.1 corners per league games last term, the Hammers 4.4. And while the London side have now been freed from the David Moyes' yoke, Bournemouth still look the value.
