Saturday’s late kick-off in the new Premier League season sees a battle of the Claret and Blues as West Ham take on Aston Villa at the London Stadium.
A ninth-place finish last season means there is no European football for the Hammers, but that hasn’t stopped them improving their squad this summer and they will be hoping to make a winning start this term.
The Villans, meanwhile, enjoyed a superb campaign last time out as they secured UEFA Champions League football for the very first time. However, they have struggled to start their league seasons in a positive manner in recent years, losing four of their last five Premier League openers.
West Ham United v Aston Villa is available to watch live in the UK on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.
West Ham United v Aston Villa will take place at the London Stadium on Saturday 17th August 2024, with kick-off at 17:30 BST.
The Hammers boast the superior head-to-head record with 45 wins from 121 total meetings in all competitions, while the Villans have claimed victory on 39 occasions.
However, last season saw Villa take four points from their two league encounters with West Ham, comfortably winning 4-1 on home soil before holding the Hammers to a 1-1 draw on the road in their last meeting back in March.
