Watford v West Brom: Prediction, Tips and Odds

West Bromwich Albion look set to build on their midweek win over Coventry City by becoming the first team to win at Watford in the Championship this season.

The Baggies ended a run of four draws with a 2-0 home victory over the Sky Blues and now they can edge out the Hornets, who are also hoping to at least stay in the play-offs hunt over the winter.

Watford v West Brom betting tips and predictions

West Brom to win - 31/20

West Brom have had far too many draws this season which has hampered their progress in the Championship.

Carlos Corberan's team have been held in 11 of their 20 matches so far, but they finally got all three points on Wednesday when they overcame Coventry at The Hawthorns thanks to goals from Alex Mowatt and Karlan Grant.

That result should have boosted confidence in the Baggies' ranks and now they can go to Vicarage Road and follow up with another win.

Before this weekend's games in the second tier Albion had won 17 points on their travels this season, with only Burnley and Sheffield United picking up more on the road than them.

West Brom's only defeat away in the Championship came at Sheffield Wednesday at the end of September, when they lost out 3-2 to a late goal, and they can end Watford's proud unbeaten record at Vicarage Road this weekend.

The hosts, who are one of just four teams in the division who are yet to lose at home in the league, did draw 0-0 with QPR in their most recent Vicarage Road clash.

They were then only able to pick up a point at Hull City on Wednesday, when they were indebted to Rocco Vata's late equaliser.

Both teams to score - Yes - 4/5

Even though West Brom can come out on top at Vicarage Road, this should be a tight Championship clash.

There is just a point separating them in the league with Albion on 32 from their 20 games, while the Hornets have one fewer on the board, although they have played a match fewer too.

The hosts have scored four more goals than Corberan's side, but have also conceded 11 more, highlighting how their defence has cost them at times this season, whereas West Brom have been much more solid and have been able to grind out results.

The stats generally point to a closely-fought game and there should be goals at both ends.

Watford have only failed to score in one home league match this term, last time out against QPR, while the Baggies have only had two blanks on the road so far.

Karlan Grant to score anytime - 10/3

Grant has had a solid enough campaign for Albion, scoring five goals in the Championship from 20 appearances.

The forward got the second to seal the win over Coventry, following on from the opener he grabbed at Preston at the end of November, and he will fancy his chances of adding to his record this weekend.

He has had at least one shot on target in his last three outings, taking a total of eight shots, of which four have been on target, so he is clearly in decent nick at the moment in the final third.

In what is expected to be a tight game, Corberan may need his experienced centre-forward to help settle things at Vicarage Road.

It is a landmark clash for the 27-year-old, too, as Sunday will be his 200th appearance in the Championship. The striker will bid to score his 53rd goal in England's second tier when he takes to the field at Vicarage Road.
