Wales v Iceland: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Wales need a win over Iceland in Cardiff while hoping leaders Turkey slip up against Montenegro if they are to win their Nations League group and secure an automatic promotion place.

After Saturday's goalless draw in Turkey, Craig Bellamy's side are second, two points behind the Crescent Stars going into the final group games.

A win over Iceland would guarantee second place and a spot in the promotion play-offs, while the visitors also know a victory would secure second.

Wales v Iceland betting tips and predictions

Wales to win and both teams to score - 10/3

With so much at stake for both sides in Cardiff, it could be a nervy but entertaining evening as the two countries eye goals and the three points they crave.

Wales were not exactly free-flowing going forward on Saturday when they drew 0-0 in Turkey but Bellamy, who remains undefeated in his five games in charge, will hope they break off the shackles and find the goals they need at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The Dragons have scored five goals in their five Nations League games, conceding just three, and they do have attacking players in good form heading into the big Iceland showdown.

Harry Wilson has scored three in his last two appearances for Fulham, while Tottenham's Brennan Johnson has hit seven goals in all competitions for Ange Postecoglou's side this season.

While both players struggled to make much of an impact for Wales on Saturday, they should get more joy against an Iceland defence that has shipped nine goals in their five games in the competition, which is the worst record in the group.

Despite their clear defensive issues, Iceland have been good at the other end of the pitch and have scored in all five matches, including in both defeats to Turkey, while the reverse fixture between these two sides in Reykjavik ended 2-2 last month.

Harry Wilson to score anytime - 11/4

Wilson has enjoyed himself at club level of late, scoring twice when coming off the bench late on to help Fulham pick up a 2-1 win over Brentford at the start of the month, before he also notched not long after coming on in the next game against Crystal Palace.

Wilson had been in good form for Wales, too, before that, scoring against Montenegro twice and against Iceland in last month's Nations League fixtures, so his confidence should be sky-high for Tuesday.

The former Liverpool man is now one of the most experienced members of the Wales squad with 59 caps to his name and Bellamy will hope he can rely on him again when it matters most against Iceland.

Isak Johannesson to be booked - 7/5

Isak Johannesson could be in for a busy evening in midfield for Iceland as he tries to help his side control proceedings.

Johannesson came off the bench to score in the 2-0 win over Montenegro on Saturday and, due to an injury to captain Aron Gunnarsson and a suspension in this game for Logi Tomasson, the Fortuna Dusseldorf man is being tipped to start in Cardiff.

He is no stranger to being shown a yellow card, having picked up six in 30 caps for Iceland, and he's already received two cautions at club level in Germany this term.
