World Cup winners Spain look set to go off as favourites to add the Euros to their trophy cabinet in July when the best women’s players on the continent head to Switzerland.
Sixteen teams will aim to lift the trophy after the Women's Euros final on 27th July and England will be keen not to surrender their grip on it after their memorable victory over Germany three years ago.
Outright Prediction: Spain to win the UEFA Women’s Euros (2/1)
Dark Horse Tip: Sweden to win the UEFA Women’s Euros (14/1)
Best Group Pick: Norway to win Group A (10/11)
A total of 15 teams and hosts Switzerland will take part in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 and they have been divided into four groups of four.
The top two in each section will move into the knockout stage and play a series of winner-takes-all matches until we discover which two teams will face off in the final, which will be held in Basel on Sunday 27th July 2025.
Here’s three of the most eye-catching groups:
Group A
Group C
Group D
Holders England could have been handed a much easier group as they prepare to take on France and the Netherlands, while Germany, who were runners-up to the Lionesses last time, have difficult games against the Scandinavian pair of Sweden and Denmark to negotiate.

World Cup winners Spain, who also won the Nations League, are set to go off favourites to add the Euros crown to their collection, while holders England come next in the betting, slightly ahead of Germany, who they beat in extra-time in the Wembley final three years ago, and France.

Germany seem to have hit their stride in the run-up to this tournament and they will fancy their chances that they have the attacking resources to be firmly in the picture at the business end of the tournament.
says Ian Wilkerson
Spain to win the UEFA Women’s Euros @ 2/1
A tournament with 16 teams involved is bound to be closely contested and there are plenty of teams who will fancy their chances of being crowned the queens of European football.
England will be desperate for a repeat of the joyous scenes that greeted their success three years ago, but they have been hit by squad withdrawals of some key experienced players and they have to negotiate a tough group that includes France and the Netherlands.
Germany have been in great form but will have to do without injured key midfielder Lena Oberdorf and are undergoing a generational change, so we could see them stronger at the 2027 World Cup, so preference is for Spain.
Class acts such as the Barcelona quartet of Aitana Bonmati, Alexia Putellas, Salma Paralluelo and Claudia Pina can help the World Cup winners through Group B that contains Italy, Portugal and Belgium.
Sweden to win the UEFA Women’s Euros @ 14/1
While Norway will fancy their chances and will be desperate to make up for their last Euros when they were humbled 8-0 by England, it could be Sweden who emerge as the surprise package.
The Swedes have been paired with in-form Germany, but they come into the tournament having lost just two of their last 18 matches and a 6-1 success in their most recent clash against Denmark was particularly eye-catching.
That result bodes well for another meeting with the Danes and they could prove a tough nut to crack if they can get to the knockout stage.
Ian Wilkerson adds:
It does look as if it is going to be an open tournament, so rule Sweden out at your peril. Coming into a tournament in good form should do wonders for their confidence and while they face Germany in their group, victories over Denmark and Poland could take them through before they face the Group C favourites.
Norway to win Group A @ 10/11
Norway’s most recent Euros success was way back in 1993, but they should be able to come out on top of Group A, which contains hosts Switzerland, Iceland and Finland.
The last two could struggle while Switzerland are hoping Arsenal midfielder Lia Walti will help protect a shaky defence.
Norway have enough talent in Lyon’s Ade Hagenburg, Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen and Women’s Super League stars Guro Reiten, Frida Maanum and Elisabeth Terland to come out on top in this section.

Germany will feel they have come into form at just the right time to go one better than they managed in England three years ago, but Spain are tried and tested after beating the Lionesses in the World Cup final and they look a strong bet to justify their favouritism.
