Robert Lewandowski

The top goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League in the 2019/20 season as Bayern Munich were crowned winners following a 1-0 triumph over Paris Saint-Germain in the final, Polish icon Robert Lewandowski is likely to be amongst the contenders to lead the standings this term in the colours of Barcelona.

At 36 years of age, Lewandowski is still in terrific physical condition and is thriving as the focal point of a youthful squad assembled by Hansi Flick.

With elite level creative talents such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha providing him with service, Lewandowski should receive plenty of chances to rack up in the goals in Europe's premier club competition.

Erling Haaland

Only one one goal from Manchester City's first two games, it felt like a matter of time before Erling Haaland exploded into this season's UEFA Champions League. The Norwegian did just that - and in some style - scoring with an acrobatic back-heel against Sparta Prague, scoring two on the night to take his tally to three for the season.

Despite City's embarrassing 3-3 draw with Feyenoord, Haaland bagged a brace to take his tally to five.

Harry Kane

Naturally amongst the pre-tournament favourites, Harry Kane cemented his credentials with four goals on Matchweek 1 in Bayern Munich's 9-2 thrashing of Dinamo Zagreb, adding a fifth against Barcelona.

Kane finished as joint-top scorer in last season's competition alongside Kylian Mbappe with eight goals. Already past halfway to that total with more games in store this season, don't be surprised to see the ex-Tottenham man reach double figures.

Vinicius Jr

Although questions remain around the suitability of Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe playing together, the Brazilian star fired himself up the top goalscorer standings with a hat-trick against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid were trailing 2-0 at home to last year's beaten finalists heading into the final half hour before Antonio Rudiger pulled one back, with Vinicius scoring in the 62nd, 86th and 93rd minutes to secure an unlikely win.

The Brazilian chalked up his fifth goal of this year's competition in a crucial 3-2 away triumph against Atalanta.
