Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalsheikh is reportedly in talks to invest in Championship side Millwall.
'His Excellency' Alalsheikh has invested heavily in boxing in recent years, fronting major events including two fights between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as well as Anthony Joshua v Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.
It is believed Alalsheikh now holds a strong interest in investing in English football, with a number of teams having reportedly reached out to the Saudi billionaire in recent months.
Suggestions that Millwall could be the team Alalsheikh is interested in have been heightened since the boxing aficionado responded to a number of social media posts made by the Lions.
Millwall, who finished just outside of the Championship play-offs in eighth place in the 2024/25 season, are currently owned by Millwall Holdings LImited, who are chaired by James Berylson since his father John tragically died in a motor vehicle accident in 2023.
The East London club have insisted that the club is not for sale and have denied any negotiations regarding external investment have been held.
Millwall are striving to become the eighth London club in the Premier League alongside Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, Brentford, Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Alex Neil’s side have only competed in the top flight of English football for two years in their entire history – between 1988 and 1990.
The Lions share a fierce rivalry with East London neighbours West Ham, who they last faced 13 years ago in the Championship with the Hammers running out 2-1 winners at the old Upton Park.
Alalsheikh's reported interest in investing in English football comes a week after he cut ties with Spanish second tier side Almeria, who he sold to Saudi investment group SMC.
