Jadon Sancho: Betting suspended on forward returning to Dortmund

Having last played for Manchester United in August due to a breakdown in relationship with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, we have suspended betting on Jadon Sancho's club on 5th February 2024 with a return to Borussia Dortmund on the cards.

Garnering a lofty reputation in the Bundesliga at Borussia Dortmund, registering 84 goal contributions in the league across three seasons between 2018 and 2021, Sancho signed for Manchester United for a reported fee of £73m in the summer of 2021.

The winger has endured a torrid time at Old Trafford, however, with the Englishman struggling to make an impact in the Premier League with just nine goals in 55 appearances in the English top flight to date.

Sancho's future at Manchester United has been cast into doubt ahead of the January transfer window, with the 23-year-old last playing for the club in August following a breakdown in relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag.

Should the Red Devils look to move Sancho on, a return to former club Borussia Dortmund certainly appears the most likely outcome, with the Englishman having enjoyed his best football in Germany.

Sancho, whose contract at Manchester United runs until the summer of 2026, could also represent a tempting transfer target for the likes of free-spending Chelsea and Saudi Pro League sides.

At 23, Sancho still has the potential to go on and enjoy a long and successful career, with a move away from Old Trafford, whether on loan or on a permanent basis, perhaps what is best for all parties in January.
