Tottenham and Manchester City have both had disappointing seasons, but Spurs will at least have been pleased with their performances in two clashes with the Premier League champions this season.

Ange Postecoglou's team began the week in 12th place in the standings, but back-to-back wins over Manchester United and Ipswich Town have restored some confidence and they will be hoping for a strong finish to the campaign.

City are facing a fight to qualify for a place in the UEFA Champions League next season having exited this year's competition with a 6-3 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid.

Pep Guardiola's team went into the midweek fixtures in the top four only by virtue of a better goal difference than Newcastle United, with Bournemouth, Chelsea and Aston Villa all within striking distance of the champions as well.

Tottenham to win & both teams to score - 7/2

Tottenham have put in plenty of performances they would want to forget this season, including at home, where they have lost more league games (six) than they have won (five).

However, there has been nothing wrong at all with their two performances against City, with a 2-1 home win in the EFL Cup in October followed by a sensational 4-0 Premier League victory at the Etihad Stadium in November in one of their best results of the season.

A home league draw was all Spurs had to show from three matches against City last season, but Guardiola's side no longer instil the same fear in their opponents as has often been the case in recent seasons.

The Citizens have lost four of their last six matches in all competitions, and one of the wins was an unconvincing 2-1 FA Cup success at League One Leyton Orient.

They have faced some tough fixtures, but they were thumped 5-1 by Arsenal and beaten twice by Real before Sunday's 2-0 home defeat by leaders Liverpool and arrive in London with their spirits at a low ebb.

City could also be without two of the bedrock players of their dominant run in their starting line-up, with Erling Haaland battling to be fit after missing the Reds defeat with a knee injury, while Kevin De Bruyne appears to be in decline and could be dropped to the bench.

Spurs had their offensive game in better shape in their 4-1 away success at Ipswich last week and will fancy their chances against a City side who have kept only one clean sheet in their last nine games.

City still have plenty of firepower and the Liverpool defeat was the first time they had been shut out in 17 games, so boost the odds on a Tottenham win by taking both teams to score.

Over 3.5 goals - 10/11

Spurs scored over 3.5 goals on their own in the teams' last meeting, but with City capable of contributing to the tally this time, backing another game with four or more goals appeals.

Both teams have scored in seven of City's last nine matches and there have been four or more goals in 11 of their last 13 fixtures in all competitions.

The Lilywhites' games have not been quite so goal-laden, but their attacking talent and untrustworthy defence have still led to four or more goals being scored in four of their last nine matches, with nine of their last 11 outings producing at least three.

The teams have started scoring early in both of their meetings this season, with all the goals coming in the first half of Tottenham's 2-1 cup win, while Postecoglou's team were 2-0 up at the break in the league game at the Etihad, so another open contest could be on the cards here.

Omar Marmoush over 1.5 shots on target - 2/1

City haven't made that many smart moves this season, but signing forward Omar Marmoush looks like a fantastic decision and he has begun his career in England in fine style since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Egyptian star scored 20 goals in Germany this season and starred in City's 4-0 home win over Newcastle with a hat-trick in 14 first-half minutes.

Marmoush also had three shots on target in the FA Cup match at Orient and added two more in Sunday's defeat to Liverpool. 

With Haaland still struggling for fitness he looks worth backing to take the fight to the hosts and have two or more shots on target on Wednesday.
