With only three games to go, a top-half finish has been out of reach for some time and manager Ange Postecoglou will be keen to protect his star names as they pursue Europa League glory.

There is no need for either of these teams to take risks with big finals on the horizon and that could lead to a low-key display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Crystal Palace were 1-0 winners in the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park in October, stopping a run of five straight wins for Spurs in their head-to-head battle, and this may follow a similar narrative to that opening showdown.

Five of Palace’s last 10 league games have stayed under 2.5 goals and their form has dropped off due to their FA Cup run, with them failing to win any of their last five top-flight fixtures.

If there is to be a match-winner at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium then Palace’s star man Eberechi Eze may be the one to shine.

Eze may be on the radar of plenty of big clubs in the summer and he is finishing the season strongly, having netted in three straight league games against Arsenal, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

The 26-year-old grabbed the assist for Jean-Philippe Mateta’s winning goal in the reverse fixture and he opened the scoring in a 3-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season.
