Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal return from the international break straight into a derby clash which has far more than bragging rights riding on it.

The London giants have had two weeks to simmer over disappointing results, with Spurs reeling from a disappointing 2-1 loss at Newcastle, while Arsenal dropped points in a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton.

The Gunners have won on their last two trips to their great capital rivals and even without stars Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, they will expect to land the hat-trick.

Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal betting tips and predictions

Kai Havertz to score or assist - 13/10

The absences of Odegaard and Rice at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be music to the ears of Spurs' boss Ange Postecoglou and the home supporters, but Arsenal aren't short of attacking options.

Jorginho for Rice looks like the straight swap in midfield, while the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, new signing Raheem Sterling and 17-year-old prodigy Ethan Nwaneri give Mikel Arteta plenty of options further forward.

Arteta knows big games are also needed by his more experienced frontmen, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, and both are in devastating form.

Saka has scored or assisted in all three Arsenal matches so far and found the net in both of last term's derbies, the 2-2 draw at The Emirates in September and the 3-2 win at Tottenham in April.

Havertz was also on target in that spring-time triumph and the German is also now a pivotal figure in the Arsenal attack.

He has already scored two goals this season for Arsenal, was on target for Germany in their 5-0 Nations League demolition of Hungary and if he stays fit will surely trump last season's 13-goal Premier League tally.

Saka is 20/21 to score or assist at Tottenham on Sunday; Havertz is 13/10. Both are attractive, but it's Havertz who is preferred.

Arsenal to win - 13/10

There was a 23-point gulf between Arsenal and Tottenham in last season's Premier League and it's a chasm that Postecoglou's side are going to struggle to close this term.

Already three points adrift of their north London rivals following a mixed start to term, Arsenal currently have a sizeable edge that may well be realised on Sunday.

The Gunners are absolutely stuffed full of self-belief after running Manchester City close last season and they have barely put a foot wrong this season.

Their 2-0 win at home to Wolves was solid, their 2-0 win at Aston Villa was a statement success against a UEFA Champions League rival and they were cruising to victory at home to Brighton last time out.

Rice's red card changed the script against a very good Albion and ultimately the Gunners had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 draw.

As for Spurs, they were wasteful in a 1-1 draw at Leicester, then crushed a dire Everton 4-0 before succumbing 2-1 at Newcastle.

They sit third in the shots-per-game table as Postecoglou continues to swear by an open, aggressive, adventurous approach.

However, better teams will be able to pick them off and there aren't many better teams than Arsenal, who look the bet at 13/10.

Tottenham +1 Corner Handicap - 20/21

Tottenham's positive approach under Postecoglou means they will create chances and win their share of corners.

Players of the calibre of James Maddison, Son Heung-min, Timo Werner, Dejan Kulusevski and others will cause problems with their direct running, which should yield its share of corners.

Spurs won the corner count at Leicester 13-2, against Everton 12-5 and at Newcastle 12-7.

A visit from Arsenal won't disable their mindset and, while they may not win quite as many corners as they have over their opening trio of contests, they look a fair bet at +1 on the corner handicap at 20/21.
