Sunderland were surprise pacesetters early on in the Championship marathon, but the Black Cats have managed only one win in their last eight ahead of a trip to face Swansea City.

The Welsh side are unbeaten in four since their stoppage-time loss at home to high-flying Leeds United last month and should present a stern test for a visiting side with a poor record in head-to-heads between the pair.

Backing the draw appeals for this Championship showdown in South Wales. Despite Sunderland starting the weekend in fourth, 10 points and five places clear of Swansea, the visitors have only managed two wins in the 22 previous meetings.

The Black Cats won a Premier League clash here in January 2016, but the Swans have triumphed in five of six meetings since, including three of the four since this duo found themselves back in the second tier together.

Sunderland's recent dip down the table is owing to their inability to win games, with six draws in their last eight. Regis Le Bris' side, meanwhile, have only grabbed four wins in 10 on the road so far.

City aren't exactly serial winners and it is just one victory in six for them on home turf.

The 24-year-old Frenchman is on a season-long loan from Zenit Saint Petersburg and has scored five goals in 15 Championship appearances.

He has gone five without a goal currently, but his manager praised his contribution to the team and hinted he will remain in the central role.

Despite going five without a goal, Isidor has managed seven shots on target from 13 attempts in that spell and he will key for the visitors and can test Swansea's resolve with two or more shots on target.
