Sunderland will be hoping to bounce back from Monday's 2-1 defeat to Leeds United when they welcome relegation-threatened Hull City to the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
The Black Cats were undone by a Pascal Struijk double at Elland Road last time out, the second of those goals coming in the dying embers of the game after Wilson Isidor had put the visitors ahead in the first half.
Head coach Regis Le Bris knows his side need to dust themselves down and get back to winning ways quickly if they are to keep themselves in contention for automatic promotion.
Visitors Hull are just a place and one point above the relegation zone and have collected just one point from the last nine on offer.
Both teams to score - 1/1
There will have been some glum faces on the Sunderland coach following Monday's defeat in West Yorkshire, a result that has left the Black Cats 10 points off top spot and eight adrift of second-placed Sheffield United in the race for automatic promotion.
A swift response is required and there is every chance that will come at the Stadium of Light, a venue the Wearside outfit are unbeaten at in the league this season (W10 D6).
Burnley are the only other side in the division that haven't been beaten at home in the Championship and that is testament to how well Sunderland have been performing in front of their supporters.
But the 8/13 for the hosts to win looks a little short especially given the fact Hull have won three of their last four away fixtures, claiming the spoils at Blackburn Rovers, Millwall and Sheffield United.
The Tigers have been better on their travels this term, collecting 17 points compared to the 13 they have picked up at the MKM Stadium, which is the worst home record in the division.
With Hull fighting for their lives, this won't be an easy assignment for the Black Cats and the better play looks to be veering away from a match winner and delving into the both teams to score market.
Sunderland have kept just one clean sheet from their last five outings, evidence of their frailties at the back, but they have thrived in attack and have scored in nine of their last 10 games in all competitions.
As for the Tigers, they have netted in five of their last seven away fixtures, but they have gone three matches without a shutout and they may struggle to keep out the hosts.
Sunderland -1 Alternative Card Handicap - 11/2
Sunderland have been taking no prisoners this season and they have racked up 73 yellow cards, the joint fourth-highest in the division heading into the weekend, while they have also received three red cards.
Hull have been one of the most disciplined sides in the league, collecting 53 yellows and no reds, and they have received just one caution in each of their last three matches.
The Black Cats were shown six yellows in the loss at Elland Road on Monday and the tough-tackling hosts look capable of picking up the most cards on Saturday starting with a -1 handicap.
Joe Gelhardt to have over 0.5 shots on target - 5/4
There will be plenty of attacking threats on show at the Stadium of Light and one of those will be Hull forward Joe Gelhardt, who has made a positive impression since joining on loan from Leeds in January.
The 22-year-old has scored one goal in six league appearances, and while he has gone four matches without finding the back of the net, he has still looked threatening.
Gelhardt had two efforts on target in the 1-1 draw against Norwich City last time out and he looks capable of testing the goalkeeper at least once on Saturday.
