Sporting CP host Lille at the Estádio José Alvalade on Tuesday.
Both clubs return to the tournament after spells away and, with more challenging games to come, will target this fixture as a chance to set the tone for their League Phase campaigns.
The fixture will be available to watch in the UK on TNT Sports 4.
The game kicks off at 20:00 BST on Tuesday 17th September at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal.
The duo previously met in Group C of the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League. Sporting CP won both games, triumphing 2-1 in Villeneuve d'Ascq before winning 1-0 in Lisbon.
Sporting CP's last UEFA Champions League campaign came in 2022/23, beating both Eintracht Frankfurt and Tottenham Hotspur, but finishing third in a group that also included Marseille.
They lost to eventual winners Atalanta in the last 16 of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League, while Lille reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Conference League, losing to Aston Villa.
Les Dogues' last foray into the UEFA Champions League was in 2021/22, emerging from their pool before losing to then-holders Chelsea.
Bruno Genesio's side came through two qualifying rounds, beating Fenerbahce and Slavia Prague.
