Spain Women vs Belgium Women Tips, Predictions and Bet Builder

There was no shock result for outright favourites Spain in their 2025 Women’s Euros opener, as they laid down a serious marker to their rivals by thrashing Portugal 5-0 on Thursday and they will be confident of following up with another victory against Belgium.

The Belgians did show some promise in their narrow 1-0 defeat to Italy but they have a woeful record against La Roja, who may run riot.

The pair meet at Stockhorn Arena in Thun on Monday and the sides’ star forwards look to play their part in an intriguing encounter.

Spain Women vs Belgium Women Prediction

Best Bet: Spain Women to win & over 4.5 goals @ 11/10

To say Spain were utterly dominant in their opener would actually be an understatement. They racked up 22 shots, 4.2 expected goals, 10 corners and 71 per cent possession in their 5-0 demolition of neighbours Portugal and they will have their rivals trembling with fear after that destructive display.

It is not in their nature to ease up either, which could spell bad news for Belgium, who will be sick of the sight of Spain after losing 5-1 and 3-2 to La Roja this year. They were also routed 7-0 by the world champions in 2024 and another heavy defeat looks likely.

Spain know a victory would likely secure their spot in the quarter-finals and they can win a match featuring at least five goals for the fifth time in seven outings.

Jamie Griffith explains:

Belgium deserve credit for only losing 1-0 to a talented Italy side in their opener but a clash with the world champs is an immense step up. Spain have battered the Belgians multiple times in the past two years and it should be no different on Monday.

Spain Women vs Belgium Women Bet Builder Tip

  • Esther Gonzalez to score

  • Alexia Putellas to score

  • Tessa Wullaert 1+ shot on target

    Pays 7/1

With Spain such a short price for victory, and the goals markets also offering little value, it could be best to boost your odds by focusing on players for a Bet Builder.

It took just two minutes for Esther Gonzalez to get the ball rolling for La Roja against Portugal and it would be no surprise to see the Gotham forward, who netted twice in Spain’s opener, add to her tally.

She is unlikely to be the only Spaniard to bag, though, and La Roja’s midfield maestro Alexia Putellas, scorer of 16 Liga F goals last term, looks a solid bet to net for the second game running.

Belgium will spend a lot of the game defending but on they should have rare forays forwards and Tessa Wullaert, who got one of her five shots against Italy on target, should test Adriana Nanclares on at least one occasion.

Jamie Griffith adds:

Esther Gonzalez and Alexia Putellas stood out in Spain’s opener and each should find the net for the second game running. I was impressed by Tessa Wullart’s determination against Italy and her willingness to shoot makes her an appealing pick for a Bet Builder.

Tactics, Form and Team News

Captain Irene Paredes missed Spain’s opener but she is back from suspension and should come in for Maria Mendez at centre-back.

That is likely to be the only change Montserrat Tome makes after the rout of Portugal, with Aitana Bonmati set to remain on the bench as she recovers from illness and is held back for the tougher games to come.

Expected Spain Women lineup: (4-3-3): Nanclares; Batlle, Paredes, Aleixandri Lopez, Carmona; Lopez, Guijarro, Putellas; Caldentey, Gonzalez, Pina.

Belgium have no injury concerns so any changes made by Elisabet Gunnarsdottir will be purely tactical. Marie Detruyer, Sarah Wijnants and Elena Dhont are among those pushing to start and keep Belgium’s hopes of progressing alive.

Expected Belgium Women lineup: (5-4-1): Lichtfus; Janssens, Tysiak, Kees, Cayman, Deloose; Toloba, Vanhaevermaet, Teulings, Eurlings; Wullaert.
