Slovenia v Serbia Prediction, Tips and Odds: 3/1 Sesko to drive Slovenia on

Slovenia came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw with Denmark on matchday one and they look capable of frustrating favourites Serbia in their second Group C game at the Euros.

Serbia gave a good account of themselves in their 1-0 defeat to England and they are 4/5 to claim three points against Group C rivals Slovenia in Munich on Thursday.

Slovenia or draw double chance - 19/20

Serbia earned plenty of praise, but no points, from their opening 1-0 defeat to England in Group C, so they will be desperate to follow up with a victory over Slovenia in Munich.

The Serbs fell behind to a 13th-minute Jude Bellingham header but grew into the game as England struggled to kick on after a perfect start to the tournament.

Thursday's clash with Slovenia, in which Serbia will be expected to take the initiative, is a very different test and, at the prices, the underdogs are worth backing to avoid defeat.

Matjaz Kek's side managed that against Denmark in their opening game, when Erik Janza's deflected strike in the 77th minute salvaged a 1-1 draw.

Slovenia had finished level with the Danes on 22 points in their Euro 2024 qualifying group and Sunday's draw stretched their impressive run of results to just two defeats in 22 matches.

They have not been playing regularly against top-class opponents, defeating Armenia 2-1 and drawing with Malta and Bulgaria in 2024 friendlies, but they also beat Portugal 2-0 in March and were good value for their point against Denmark.

Star striker Benjamin Sesko was denied by the woodwork, fellow forward Andraz Sporar racked up four shots and Slovenia looked threatening from set-pieces with their equaliser coming from a corner.

Serbia conceded eight goals in three group games at the 2022 World Cup, losing 2-0 to Brazil and 3-2 to Switzerland either side of a 3-3 draw with Cameroon in which they let slip a 3-1 lead.

Their defence remains unconvincing and their wait for a first Euros victory as an independent nation may be extended by a solid Slovenia side.

Benjamin Sesko anytime goalscorer - 3/1

Slovenia's star striker Sesko was a transfer target for several top Premier League clubs before signing a new contract with RB Leipzig earlier this month.

He showed glimpses of his quality against Denmark, firing just wide from distance in the first half and hitting the post with a brilliant strike after the break.

Sesko looks a big price to score against Serbia, who failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six qualifiers against Hungary (twice), Bulgaria (twice), Lithuania and Montenegro.

The 21-year-old scored 14 times in 1,532 minutes of Bundesliga action for Leipzig in 2023/24, also finding the net twice in the Champions League, and he can enhance his reputation with a goal at the Euros.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic over 0.5 shots on target - 6/5

While Sesko is the key threat for Slovenia, Serbia strikers Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic caused problems for England on Sunday.

Attacking midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was limited to one speculative shot from distance, but he could make more of an impact against Slovenia and is an attractive bet to have at least one effort on target.

Milinkovic-Savic was a regular goalscorer for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia last season, finding the net 11 times in 28 starts.

His aerial prowess is a worry for Slovenia, who allowed Danish centre-backs Andreas Christensen, Jannik Vestergaard and Joachim Andersen five attempts at goal in Sunday's draw.

Former Lazio man Milinkovic-Savic opened the scoring in two of Serbia's last three friendlies before the Euros, against Cyprus and Sweden, and he may well test Slovenia's ace goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
