Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark open their campaign in Germany with a clash against Slovenia, with these two sides having met in qualifying and finished level on points in Group H.
While Slovenia are seen as outsiders in Group C, they’ve hung in with Denmark before and they will be out to do the same in their tournament opener in Stuttgart on Sunday.

These two sides met for the first time since 2008 when they were paired together in Euro 2024 qualifying.
This encounter in Stuttgart comes almost a year to the day from their first qualifying clash, with Denmark drawing 1-1 in Slovenia on 19th June 2023.
The Danes won 2-1 in November last year, with that result in the penultimate round of games helping them to secure first place and a spot at this summer’s Finals.

Slovenia have doubts about four players ahead of their opening game of Euro 2024.
Central defender Miha Blazic and winger Petar Stojanovic are facing late fitness tests ahead of the game, while Benjamin Verbic and Sandi Lovric could also miss out.
RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko will lead the line in Slovenia’s 4-4-2 formation, with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak their other star name.
Denmark have no major injury news to report, meaning Kasper Hjulmand has a full-strength side to choose from on Sunday.
The Danes are expected to line up in a 3-5-2 system, with Jonas Wind partnering Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund in attack.
