Sheffield United and Wrexham will both search for their second win of the season when they meet at Bramall Lane in the first round of the EFL Cup.
The Blades got their Championship campaign underway with a 2-0 success over Preston North End on Friday, while Wrexham wrestled past Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 in their first encounter in League One.
While both teams will be focused on their league campaigns this season, Tuesday's tie in South Yorkshire should still be entertaining.
Sheffield United to win - 4/6
The 2023/24 Premier League campaign was one to forget for Sheffield United as they finished bottom with just 16 points.
In what was a disastrous season, the Blades only won three games, and neither Paul Heckingbottom nor Chris Wilder could get a tune out of the Sheffield United squad.
Wilder, who led the club to the Premier League in 2019, has now been given the task of rebuilding the team for promotion, and they made a strong start at Deepdale.
Goals from Ollie Arblaster and Gustavo Hamer secured Wilder's side the win, and a return to home soil should bring further improvement.
While Wrexham ran out 3-2 winners against Wycombe, Sheffield United have the greater strength in depth, and with both managers set to make changes, that could be the difference at Bramall Lane.
Over 3.5 goals - 6/5
Tuesday's hosts were the lowest scorers in the Premier League last season, but a clash against a League One outfit certainly improves their chances of finding the back of the net.
The Red Dragons raced into a two-goal lead in the first half against the Chairboys, but Wycombe refused to go down without a fight.
Phil Parkinson's side netted 89 times in League Two last season, but they conceded 52 goals in return, which was the most among those teams that earned promotion.
Wilder's side should have scored more than the two they did against the Lilywhites, and he has a wealth of options at his disposal.
While he is expected to make changes, the likes of Kieffer Moore, Tyrese Campbell, Callum O'Hare, Hamer and Andre Brooks are all available in attack.
Both teams want to build some continuity as they try to lay down a platform for their respective league campaigns, and with both managers expected to play attacking football, this could be an entertaining affair for the neutral.
James McClean to be booked - 13/5
Wrexham utility man McClean will relish the chance to play on Tuesday, and he is well known for his aggressive and committed style of play.
McClean was in the spotlight in a recent pre-season bust-up in a friendly against Chelsea, and he also collected 12 yellow cards last season, the highest number in the Wrexham squad.
The Irishman conceded 43 fouls, and is likely to come up against some of Sheffield United's best players. Brooks caused havoc against Preston, and if he gets to feature at any point, he will look to frustrate McClean, who usually responds with a powerful challenge or two.
