Sheffield United v Leeds United: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Sheffield United host title rivals Leeds United in the Championship on Monday and both clubs are in excellent form going into their Bramall Lane showdown.

Sheffield United v Leeds United betting tips and predictions

Leeds United to win to nil - 9/4

Leeds have been hot favourites to win the 2024/25 Championship ever since the market was first priced up, but Daniel Farke's men have not had things all their own way this season.

Despite playing some fabulous football, thrashing Cardiff City 7-0 at Elland Road and winning 4-0 at Watford this month, they are yet to shake off promotion rivals Sheffield United and Burnley.

The Blades will kick off Monday's Yorkshire derby at Bramall Lane knowing that a victory would take them back to the top of the table.

Chris Wilder's men have won seven of their last eight league games, although their record against the top clubs suggests they may not be able to halt the leaders' charge.

Sheff Utd have suffered only five defeats in the second division this term, but three of them came against other top-four teams.

They lost 2-0 at home to Burnley on Boxing Day and 2-1 at Sunderland on New Year's Day, having failed to register a shot on target in October's 2-0 defeat at Leeds.

Another Leeds victory to nil looks a good bet as they have found an impressive balance between defensive solidity and attacking fluency recently.

Farke's side have kept nine clean sheets in their last 12 Championship matches, winning eight of those games.

The exception was a goalless draw played out in wet and windy conditions at Burnley, who have conceded only nine goals in 34 league matches this season.

Leeds needed two late goals from substitute centre-back Pascal Struijk to earn a 2-1 home win over fourth-placed Sunderland last time out.

However, the hosts' strong run has been helped by a relatively soft sequence of fixtures and they may struggle to land a blow on the best team in the division.

Jayden Bogle to have over 0.5 shots - 8/11

Leeds have goal threats all over the pitch, as demonstrated by Struijk's headed brace in last Monday's victory against Sunderland.

Striker Joel Piroe and attacking midfielders Daniel James, Brenden Aaronson and Manor Solomon form a classy front four, while right-back Jayden Bogle can also get forward to good effect.

The 24-year-old has scored four league goals this term and is a tempting price to have at least one shot at Bramall Lane.

That would have been a winning bet in 11 of Bogle's last 14 Championship away games and he had two attempts in last month's stalemate at high-flying Burnley, as well as two in the home win over Sheffield United.

Vinicius Souza to be booked - 3/1

The stakes are high for these Yorkshire rivals, who look set for a three-way scrap with Burnley for the two automatic promotion spots in this season's Championship.

A feisty contest is expected and Sheff Utd's Vinicius Souza should be in the thick of the midfield battle.

Souza was booked in October's defeat at Elland Road, where he made six tackles - more than any other player on the pitch.

He has picked up yellow cards in two of his last four league appearances, at Derby and Luton, to take his tally for the season to eight cautions in 24 starts.

Before joining the Blades in the summer of 2023, the Brazilian had received 18 yellow cards and two reds in 58 league starts for Mechelen in Belgium and Espanyol in Spain, so he is well worth a bet to be booked in Monday's top-of-the-table clash.
