Sheffield United v Brighton: Tips, Predictions and Odds

The latest betting tips, predictions and odds for Sheffield United v Brighton.

If Sheffield United are to retain their Premier League status for next season, time is running out and they need to start winning games like Sunday’s encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion at Bramall Lane.

A 3-1 win on the road at Luton Town, who had themselves only recently put four goals past Brighton at Kenilworth Road, has given hope to the Blades' squad that they can get out of the bottom three.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has recently been linked with some of the biggest jobs in the country - at Liverpool and Manchester United - ahead of next season but his focus needs to be on his inconsistent Seagulls.

A trip to Bramall Lane won’t be a walk in the park for Brighton, with United knowing time is against them if they are to make a push for safety.

Sheffield United v Brighton betting tips and predictions

Sheffield United or Draw Double Chance @ 6/5

It was not all that long ago that these sides met in the league at the Amex Stadium, with a 1-1 draw being played out on 12th November.

Simon Adingra gave the Seagulls the early lead, before a 74th-minute own-goal from Adam Webster meant the spoils were shared on the south coast.

These sides have met since in the FA Cup, with Brighton pulling away in the second half to run out 5-2 winners at Bramall Lane.

Of course that was a cup clash and perhaps not too much can be read into that game, considering United have much bigger fish to fry in the Premier League.

The league result in November will prove to the United players that they are capable of going toe-to-toe with a Brighton side that are renowned for playing some of the best football in the country.

Brighton’s recent away form should also give Chris Wilder’s side the confidence to go out and play on Sunday, with the Seagulls winning just one of their last 10 away games in the Premier League.

That last away victory came back on 25th November at Nottingham Forest and Brighton have been winless in their six trips in the Premier League since, including four defeats.

Brighton look to be there for the taking at Bramall Lane and a Sheff Utd win or draw is available at 6/5.

Under 2.5 total goals @ 7/5

Much like the encounter at the Amex Stadium, a low-scoring affair might well be on the cards this weekend in South Yorkshire.

The Blades’ last home win in the Premier League came back on 9th December with a 1-0 victory over Thomas Frank’s Brentford.

Expect the hosts to try and keep things tight and disrupt Brighton’s passing game to try and edge a narrow victory.

The 7/5 for under 2.5 total goals in the game looks appealing, especially considering the last meeting between these sides.

Cameron Archer to score anytime @ 11/4

The joint-top Premier League goalscorer at the club this season, Cameron Archer is a player to look out for in the anytime goalscorer market on Sunday.

Archer has already found the back of the net four times in the league this season, scoring against Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Luton.

Archer scored the opener against the Hatters last time out for the Blades and is available at 17/2 to score the opener on Sunday.

The more conservative approach would be to focus on the anytime goalscorer market, with the former Middlesbrough forward at 11/4 to find the back of the net against this Seagulls’ defence which has been leaking goals of late.
