Shamrock Rovers gained a point on league leaders Shelbourne on Friday and will be keen to close the gap again by taking care of Bohemians in a Dublin derby.

Rovers, title winners in each of the last four seasons, are seven points behind Damien Duff's pacesetters, with Derry City splitting the capital rivals.

Third-from-bottom Bohemians have lost their last seven visits to Tallaght Stadium but they got the better of Rovers at the start of this month.

Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians team news

Shamrock Rovers team news

Aaron Greene, Aaron McEneff and Rory Gaffney remain out for the champions after they all missed the matchday squad for Friday's controversial draw in Derry.

Greene and McEneff may need another week or so, while Jack Byrne carried a knock into that game and went off soon after the hour mark, but the 28-year-old should be fit to start.

Bohemians team news

Alan Reynolds said the recent home game with Drogheda was the biggest game of their season so far, but his Bohs side were turned over, ending their recent run of good form.

Dawson Devoy returned from suspension there and went back into the starting XI, though the game came too soon for Adam McDonnell (ankle) and James McManus was ruled out with a knock.

They could return now, though Filip Piszczek (ankle), Keith Buckley (knee) and Rob Cornwall (knee) are likely to remain out.
