Sevilla v Barcelona: Prediction, Tips and Odds

With Madrid rivals Atletico and Real having drawn 1-1 on Saturday evening, Barcelona have a chance to gain ground in the La Liga title race by winning at Sevilla on Sunday.

The Catalan giants went into the winter break under something of a cloud, losing four of their nine games leading up to Christmas.

However, Hansi Flick's side have looked rejuvenated in the new year, with eight wins and two draws since they returned to action.

Barca stand four points behind Atleti and five in arrears of Real, so an eighth away league success of the season would keep up the pressure on their rivals.

Sevilla are on a four-game unbeaten run themselves but have lost six successive matches against the Catalans and were beaten 5-1 in the teams' first meeting of the season in October.

Sevilla v Barcelona betting tips and predictions

Barcelona win & both teams to score - 13/8

Sevilla managed a consolation goal in their heavy defeat in their away fixture against Barca this season and that may be the best they can hope for in this home game too.

While the home side have not been beaten in their last four outings, that run includes three draws against  Valencia, Espanyol and Getafe, who all began the weekend in the bottom seven places in the table.

They went behind in two of those games and needed a last-minute equaliser to avoid defeat at home to Los Che, so a 2-1 away win at Girona is their best recent result by some distance.

Taking on mighty Barca is another level of difficulty entirely, especially as the visitors arrive in red-hot form.

They have been going goal crazy over the last month, scoring 31 goals in their last eight matches, with seven against Valencia in the league and five against Real, Real Betis, Benfica and Valencia in the Copa del Rey.

Their last two wins have come in shutouts, but prior to that Barcelona had played six successive games in which both teams scored.

With Sevilla finding the net in 10 successive matches before last week's goalless draw against Getafe, taking Barca to win and both teams to score appeals.

Raphinha to assist a goal - 2/1

Ferran Torres starred for Barca in the 5-0 midweek win over Valencia as he returned to his former club, but Raphinha was again a key player in their success, assisting the hat-trick goal for Torres, as well as Lamine Yamal's strike that rounded off the Copa del Rey success.

Raphinha was not on the scoresheet despite playing the first 66 minutes of the first meeting between Barca and Sevilla, but again he was responsible for two assists.

He was fouled for the penalty that Robert Lewandowski converted to open the scoring, before setting up the Polish striker's second goal too.

The former Leeds United star has netted 23 goals himself this season and has also supplied 15 assists too and odds of 2/1 for him to add another to his tally are worth taking in a potentially high-scoring game.

Dodi Lukebakio anytime goalscorer - 11/4

Midfielder Stanis Idumbo scored Sevilla's goal in the away match against Barcelona, but another Belgian star has really caught the eye for them this season and Dodi Lukebakio could be the man to strike for the home team on Sunday.

Lukebakio has been a regular scorer for the Rojiblanco this season, never going more than three games without a goal and scoring nine times in all, with his latest strike being the winner in the away success at Girona.

He clearly enjoys taking on the big clubs as he has already netted against both Madrid clubs this season.

Sevilla lost those games, 4-3 to Atleti and 4-2 to Real and Lukebakio could register another notable goal in a losing effort.
