The last two clashes between the pair in Seattle have ended in draws.
Best Bet: Columbus Crew double chance @ 10/11
Seattle endured a miserable Club World Cup, losing to Botafogo, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to finish bottom of Group B, and those results extended their losing run to five matches in all competitions.
The Sounders did respond against Austin FC last time out, registering a 2-0 victory, but Los Verdes are no great shakes themselves this season and failure to get a win would have been seen as a disappointment.
Brian Schmetzer's troops will need to improve if they are going to get anything from a Columbus side that have been going about their business nicely of late, racking up three wins in a row.
Away form has been patchy for the Crew, who have drawn two and lost two of their last four road assignments, but there is a real flow to their play right now and they can at least avoid defeat in this trip to Lumen Field.
James Mason explains:
Columbus are in a confident mood following recent results and they look capable of getting something against a Seattle side who have been inconsistent of late and were outclassed at the Club World Cup.
Danny Musovski to have 1+ shots on target
Mohamed Farsi to have 1+ shots on target
Sean Zawadzki to be booked
Pays 14/1
Danny Musovski was in superb form for Seattle from mid-April to mid-May, netting in five successive matches, but he then endured a lean spell with no goals from his next five MLS appearances.
But the 29-year-old was back in the goals last time out and while he will be eager to add to his tally on Sunday, the safer play looks to be backing him to have a shot on target, something he has achieved with 15 of his 29 MLS efforts.
Also capable of testing the goalkeeper at least once is Columbus ace Mohamed Farsi, who opened his account for the season in the win over Philadelphia last time out.
Exactly half of the 25-year-old's 16 MLS attempts have ended up on target and he can force the keeper into a save in Seattle.
Sean Zawadzki has managed to stay out of the referee's notebook in the last six MLS matches, but he has picked up four cautions this season and a fifth could be coming his way.
The 25-year-old defender has committed 20 fouls this term and his luck of avoiding a fifth yellow card could run out.

James Mason adds:
Danny Musovski and Mohamed Farsi have a solid shots on target percentage this season and the duo look capable of testing the respective goalkeepers out at least once on Sunday. Sean Zawadzki has lacked discipline at time this season and he may get on the wrong side of the referee in Seattle.

Seattle like to play a possession-based style of football, patiently building attacks and trying to control the game, while they also like to utilise width with their full-backs overlapping.
The Sounders do have a number of injury issues to deal with and are once again expected to be without Kim Kee-Hee, who has been dealing with a calf strain.
Yeimar Gomez Andrade was sidelined last time out with a muscle problem and Paul Arriola has a cruciate ligament tear, while Reed Baker-Whiting is suspended after a picking up a red card against Austin FC.
Expected Seattle Sounders lineup: (4-2-3-1) Frei; Kossa-Rienzi, A. Roldan, Ragen, Baker; Vargas, C. Roldan; Ferreira, Rusnak, De la Vega; Musovski.
Columbus often switch between a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 formation, but we expect them to line up in the former stye and this should provide them with plenty of width to attack down the flanks.
The Crew are expected to be without their first two goalkeepers, with Patrick Schulte recovering from an abdominal issue and Nicholas Hagen suffering a muscle injury at the CONCACAF Gold Cup with Guatemala.
Evan Bush, who didn't have a single save to make last time out in the 1-0 win over Philadelphia, is set to remain in goal.
Rudy Camacho is a doubt with a hamstring strain and will need to be assessed.
Expected Columbus Crew lineup: (3-4-3) Bush; Moreira, Zawadzki, Cheberko; Farsi, Nagbe, Jackson, Lappalainen; Chambost, Gazdag; Rossi.
