Salford City v Bromley: Prediction, Tips and Odds

After a recent disappointing run, League Two promotion hopefuls Salford City go in search of a crucial three points, when they face Bromley at the Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday night.

Salford City v Bromley betting tips and predictions

Salford to win – 1/1

A run of six straight league wins between mid-December and early January put Salford right in the promotion picture.

Their 8-0 FA Cup thumping at the hands of Manchester City seemed to have a negative impact on their confidence and they have failed to win a match since their trip to the Etihad.

Following back-to-back defeats against Fleetwood and Cheltenham, Karl Robinson’s men have shown signs though that they are getting back on track.

Two draws in their last two matches appears to have stopped the rot, with Saturday's point coming at league leaders Walsall. Salford had been two goals up before the Saddlers snatched a point with two goals in the last 12 minutes.

The Ammies are now just three points outside the League Two play-off places and some nine points ahead of Tuesday’s opponents.

With games against promotion rivals Wimbledon, Port Vale and Bradford to come over the next few weeks, Tuesday’s clash and Saturday’s home game with Tranmere, could be crucial.

Bromley head to the north-west having failed to win any of their last five league games, a run which has seen them to slip to 16th in League Two.

Andy Woodman’s men have collected just one point from their last three away games – conceding eight goals in the process.

Bromley were also hit by the news last week that striker Levi Amantchi has left to join Walsall for an undisclosed fee and their first season in the EFL is in danger of tailing off.

These two teams last met in the National League in the 2018/19 season, when Salford did the double over Bromley, which included a 2-1 victory on home soil when all three goals were scored in the last five minutes.

Cole Stockton Anytime Goalscorer - 2/1

Goals have hardly been flowing this season for Salford, who have the lowest tally of goals scored in the top half of the League Two table.

Robinson’s side have averaged just 1.17 goals per game this term, but Cole Stockton has been their shining light from an attacking perspective.

The former Tranmere, Carlisle and Morecambe forward has eight goals and two assists to his name in 24 appearances.

After four league games without a goal, Stockton got back on the scoresheet at the weekend – bagging the opener in the 2-2 draw at the Bescot Stadium.

The 30-year-old won promotion to League One during his time at Morecambe and his experience could prove crucial to Salford’s hopes this season.

Half Time / Full Time – Draw-Salford City – 4/1

With their poor recent run of form, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bromley head to Salford looking to keep things tight and frustrate the hosts for as long as possible.

The visitors’ cause isn’t helped by the fact that they are still missing defender Omar Sowunmi, following his sending off at Chesterfield in their last away game, which saw him handed a three-game ban.

They have scored three more goals than Salford this term, but the EFL new boys have conceded 37 times – nine more than their opponents.

It’s also worth noting that five of the last six goals that Bromley have conceded, have been scored in the second half, including both of Grimsby’s strikes in Saturday’s 2-0 home loss.
