Real Madrid added another piece of silverware to their bulging Santiago Bernabeu trophy cabinet on Wednesday as the Spanish giants beat Pachuca 3-0 in the Intercontinental Cup final.

However, it is a quick return to domestic matters next up with a home La Liga clash against Sevilla.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are in the thick of a tight title race with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, so there won't have been too much celebrating on the plane back from Qatar in midweek.

Sevilla make the trip to the capital with trepidation - they have lost 16 of their last 17 away matches against Real in all competitions - last winning at the Bernabeu in 2008.

Real have been far from perfect this season, but they remain strong at home and should be able to see off Sevilla by more than one goal at the Bernabeu on Sunday.

Madrid have played 11 home matches this term, winning nine of them and eight of those victories were by at least two goals.

Alaves were the only side beaten by a one-goal margin and they were 3-0 down after 48 minutes before two late consolation strikes gave the score a less flattering look for Madrid.

Ancelotti's team were ripped apart by Barcelona 4-0 and followed that with a surprise 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League, but they have since recovered, seeing off Osasuna (4-0) and Getafe (2-0) at home with the minimum of fuss.

Goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez is set to be as busy as he was on that trip to the capital, while Sevilla's forwards might not find the same joy from limited attacking moments.

Vinicius is suspended for this clash, which should allow Mbappe more freedom to roam and at 4/5 he looks a rock-solid bet to score for the fourth straight match.

Mbappe opened the scoring against Pachuca on Wednesday and has netted in five of his last seven appearances, while in the other two outings - at Liverpool and Athletic Bilbao - he missed penalties.

There has been a lot of criticism aimed at Mbappe, but he is a world-class performer and seems to be growing into the role of being Real's attacking focal point.

Saul Niguez to be Booked - 2/1

Real are averaging over 60 per cent possession in La Liga this season and it therefore seems logical to expect Sevilla to spend most of the time chasing their hosts.

That does not bode well given Los Rojiblancos have already had five red cards and 42 yellows in La Liga in this campaign.

Summer signing Saul Niguez has picked up three of those (two yellows and a straight red) in just eight appearances and he looks a juicy price to be booked.

Saul has committed eight fouls in his last three matches, spanning only 162 minutes, while as a former Atleti player he will be certain of a hot reception by the Bernabeu faithful too.
