Real Madrid are under pressure to keep tabs on city rivals Atletico in the La Liga title race and Carlo Ancelotti will hope for a no-nonsense win from his side when Las Palmas visit the Bernabeu.
The Spanish champions have been close to perfect on their own patch in the league this season and will be keen on making amends having dropped points in their August visit to Gran Canaria.
Real Madrid half-time/full-time - 8/15
Real Madrid dropped two points when they visited the Canary Islanders in August and the La Liga champions won't want any possibility of a repeat at the Bernabeu on Sunday afternoon.
Los Blancos started the weekend a point behind city rivals and pacesetters Atletico Madrid, with Diego Simeone's Atleti travelling to Leganes on Saturday seeking to extend their winning run in the league to nine games.
The need is therefore clear for Ancelotti and his side to maintain the pressure by accounting for these plucky visitors.
Aside from a chastening 4-0 loss to Barcelona at the Bernabeu in October, Real's home form in the league has been perfect, with eight wins. They have scored 24 goals scored and conceded just five at home outside of that humbling loss against the Catalans.
Madrid have led at half-time and gone on to win in their last five La Liga home games and with the pressure on to avoid an upset, they can take control of this contest early on.
Jude Bellingham anytime goalscorer - 11/10
Jude Bellingham was voted La Liga's Player of the Season in his first year in Spain, the England playmaker scoring 19 league goals as Madrid ended the campaign 10 points clear.
Adding a UEFA Champions League win at Wembley in June was the perfect end to his season.
Bellingham, like many of his Three Lions teammates, was subdued at the European Championship for much of the tournament, despite England reaching the final.
That form carried over as Bellingham failed to score in Real Madrid's first seven La Liga outings this season but since early November the reliability is back, with seven goals in eight outings in the Spanish top flight alongside the decisive goal in a 3-2 UEFA Champions League win against Atalanta in Bergamo.
He began 2025 with a missed penalty at Valencia but showed his elite mentality in helping 10-man Real turn that contest around, Bellingham netting the winner in the 95th minute after teeing up Luka Modric for the equaliser.
With Modric and Vinicius Junior both suspended for this engagement, Bellingham will be front and centre and can add to his seven league goals.
Alex Suarez to be booked - 13/5
Las Palmas managed to avoid a booking in the reverse game – at least on the pitch, although their now former boss Luis Carrion had his name taken in the second half of that stalemate.
The islanders will be forced to defend for long spells here in all probability and tackles will have to be made.
Central defender Alex Suarez has been carded in each of his last three starts against Valladolid, Espanyol and Getafe.
That takes his tally to seven cautions for the season, with only Abdel Abqar of Alaves booked more often.
With Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo and potentially teenage sensation Arda Guler lurking for the home side, it could be another testing day at the office for the 31-year-old and he may extend his booking sequence.
