Having fallen out of favour with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag earlier in the season, we have priced up French defender Raphael Varane's club on 5th February 2024.
Raphael Varane next club odds:
Manchester United | 1/6 |
Real Madrid | 9/1 |
Bayern Munich | 14/1 |
Any Saudi Arabian team | 16/1 |
Juventus | 33/1 |
PSG | 33/1 |
Borussia Dortmund | 66/1 |
Inter Milan | 80/1 |
Beginning the season as a regular starter for Manchester United, Varane found himself on the fringes of the first team picture at Old Trafford amidst reports of a strained relationship with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, though has found himself back in the XI following injuries to his defensive team-mates.
Still only 30 years old, the French World Cup winner undoubtedly still has a lot to offer at the highest level, and the defender is unlikely to be happy to settle for a place on the substitutes' bench at Old Trafford for too long.
Varane's bit-part role at Old Trafford has led to suggestions that teams in the Saudi Pro League are eyeing up a potential move for the ex-Real Madrid man.
The four-time Champions League winner may not be ready to take this step down in level, however, with transfers to the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus perhaps more desirable for Varane at this stage of his career.
Varane's contract has an option to be extended by 12 months, but with his injury issues, it looks likely that United will let the Frenchman leave on a free in the summer.
