Rangers have to forget last weekend's League Cup final heartache and concentrate instead on winning a fixture that could see them leapfrog Aberdeen into second place in the Premiership table.
A Rangers win over Dundee coupled with an Aberdeen failure to beat Hibs would move the Gers up to second - though Tony Docherty's visitors to Glasgow have other ideas.
Rangers win & Over 3.5 Goals - 6/5
Rangers have come to life after a disappointing start to the season and look well placed to continue their resurgence by beating Dundee at Ibrox.
Philippe Clement's side are still not as consistent in terms of performance as he would like, but a 10-match unbeaten run heading into Christmas is all he could have hoped for after the first few weeks of the season.
It's a run which has seen them all but nail down a place in the next stage of the UEFA Europa League and take an axe to the advantage Aberdeen had over them in the battle for second spot.
And while their last two results were draws rather than wins, they still illustrated just how far they have come.
The 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League was creditable enough and then to hold Celtic to a 3-3 draw in the League Cup final was even better.
The ultimate loss on penalties was heartbreaking but they have had a week to dust themselves down and get in the right mindset to chase a fourth straight league win.
The goals are also flowing for the Gers, who have found the net in each of their last 13 matches, scoring two or more in seven of those.
And that spells danger for a Dundee side who can be brittle at the back. They have already conceded 29 goals this season, and that's the reason why they are outside of the top six.
They haven't played for two weeks since a dispiriting 2-0 defeat at Hearts, which ended an encouraging three-match unbeaten run.
It's their first meeting with Rangers this season in the league though they have played Aberdeen (twice) and Celtic and lost all three games with an aggregate scoreline of 8-2.
And they did play at Rangers in the League Cup in September and lost 3-0.
In fact, their record against the Old Firm side is atrocious with no wins in 14 - 12 of those were defeats - and they haven't won at Ibrox since 2001.
Dundee's games average more goals than any other side - 3.5 per match - so expect Rangers to win an entertaining affair.
Ianis Hagi First Goalscorer - 11/2
It's no coincidence that Rangers' upturn has happened since Ianis Hagi returned from injury.
Hagi returned for the Gers at the start of October but the playmaker has started just three Premiership games and they've all been won - without conceding a single goal.
In limited pitch time he has produced three assists and although he has yet to find the net, that will change.
The Romanian international - who did convert his penalty in the League Cup final shootout loss to Celtic last weekend - is averaging 1.8 shots per game which is decent given he has only played a full 90 minutes twice.
Hagi is 11/2 to open the scoring and against a Dundee defence which seems easy to breach, he's worth the bet to get off the mark.
Mohamad Sylla to be booked - 7/2
It's been an eventful season already for Mohamad Sylla, who was in hospital in late September after suffering an anaphylactic shock, but thankfully has made a full recovery.
Indeed, within a few weeks of coming out of A&E he was collecting a career-first red card (and a pretty luckless one) before half time of a 3-2 loss against Kilmarnock.
The French midfielder has since gone on to pick up a couple more yellows and was also booked in the 3-0 loss to Rangers in the League Cup.
Given that he is Dundee's most prolific tackler - 3.3 tackles per game - and commits 1.5 fouls per match, it's perhaps a surprise he doesn't see yellow more often.
And maybe that's why he's quite a generous 7/2 to be cautioned at Ibrox.
