Preston North End v Millwall: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Only goal difference separates Preston North End and Millwall in the Championship table ahead of their meeting at Deepdale Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Both teams go into this game on the back of draws against teams battling for promotion, with Preston earning a goalless draw against Burnley and Millwall’s clash with West Brom ending 1-1.

There looks to be very little separating these two teams and Tuesday’s encounter might well develop into a close encounter at Deepdale.

Preston North End v Millwall betting tips and predictions

Draw and both teams to score - 4/1

As mentioned, the table doesn’t lie and there’s only goal difference separating these two sides going into Tuesday’s showdown in Lancashire.

Losing just one of their last six games in the Championship, the Lions have been on a good run of form under new boss Alex Neil.

The former Preston boss, who was with the Lilywhites from 2017 to 2021, will know how difficult it can be for an away side to get a victory at Deepdale.

Preston are unbeaten in their last nine Championship games on their own patch, with their last home defeat coming at the hands of Bristol City back on November 2nd.

Since then, the Lilywhites have played out six draws and three wins in their following nine home games in the Championship and another stalemate might well be on the cards here.

Two of the last three games between these sides have ended 1-1 and another scoring draw appeals at odds of 4/1 for this one.

Milutin Osmajic anytime goalscorer - 13/5

Scoring in Preston’s 1-0 win at Norwich City on 11th November before the goalless draw against Burnley, Milutin Osmajic is the last Lilywhites’ player to find the back of the net for Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

The Montenegro international has scored seven Championship goals this season and is likely to start ahead of the club’s top goalscorer Emil Riis, as the Dane continues to work his way back to full fitness.

Playing as the centre forward, Osmajic will be the man tasked with trying to find a way past this Millwall defence.

The Lions did concede five goals in their last away game, with a shock 5-1 defeat at the hands of Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.

Osmajic should have his opportunities in this game and the 25-year-old is good value to add to his goal tally on Tuesday.

Ali McCann to be booked - 11/4

No team has picked up more yellow cards in the Championship this season than Preston North End and Ali McCann has done much of the heavy lifting in this department.

McCann returns from a two-match suspension to feature in this game after collecting his 10th yellow card.

A player who was booked against Millwall in their meeting at The Den earlier this season, it would be little surprise to see the Northern Ireland international add another booking to his growing collection on Tuesday night.
