A third clean sheet of the season for Manchester City sees Ederson shorten to 8/13 to win the Premier League Golden Glove.
Premier League Golden Glove odds:
Ederson to win the Golden Glove | 8/13 |
Alisson to win the Golden Glove | 9/2 |
Nick Pope to win the Golden Glove | 9/1 |
David Raya to win the Golden Glove | 16/1 |
Andre Onana to win the Golden Glove | 20/1 |
Robert Sanchez to win the Golden Glove | 20/1 |
Though Ederson surprisingly failed to keep clean sheets against Sheffield United and Fulham, the Manchester City man looks well placed to win a record-equalling fourth Golden Glove.
Andre Onana got off to a good start with a clean sheet and and six saves on his debut against Wolves, but Manchester United have looked much more porous this season than last, when David de Gea won the Golden Glove. The performance against Brighton was the latest in a series of leaky defensive efforts, with the visitors tearing United apart at will.
Liverpool, too, look to be in transition with a brand new midfield that still looks slightly imbalanced and too open for Alisson to keep enough clean sheets, with the Reds conceding early against Wolves.
Mikel Arteta appears to be experimenting with a more adventurous formation, with two advanced midfielders in Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz replacing the two more central midfielders used last year in the form of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka, and though they kept a clean sheet against Everton, they did so with David Raya in goal, and it appears Aaron Ramsdale has lost the gloves to Arsenal's summer signing.
Even Newcastle, who were arguably the best defensive outfit in the league this season, look more open, eventually keeping their first clean sheet of the season against Brentford, following up in the 8-0 demolition against Sheffield United.
