Portugal v Croatia: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Euros preparations continue for both Portugal and Croatia on Saturday when they meet in a friendly at Estadio Nacional.

The hosts still have one final warm-up game against the Republic of Ireland before they head off to Germany, while this fixture is the last chance for members of the Croatia squad to stake their claim for a starting role in Germany.

Portugal v Croatia betting tips and predictions

Portugal to win and under 2.5 goals - 11/4

Portugal started their Euros preparations in solid fashion with a 4-2 victory against Finland last time out and they will be eager to keep that momentum going in the second of three friendlies before the tournaments begins.

Roberto Martinez has already selected his 26-player squad for the finals in Germany and is expected to alter his starting XI from Tuesday's victory, allowing others to get some valuable playing time.

But a changed line-up shouldn't disrupt Portugal's balance, as they boast one of the strongest squads, and they can notch another win at Croatia's expense.

Croatia impressed in a 3-0 friendly triumph over North Macedonia last time out, but this will be a much sterner challenge and with this being their last outing before the finals, no player will be looking to over-exert themselves and potentially pick up an injury.

The three friendly matches between these two nations have all produced under 2.5 goals, with Portugal winning two and drawing the other, and Selecao das Quinas could very well deliver another victory in a low-scoring encounter.

Bruno Fernandes to score from outside the box - 12/1

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes enjoyed a strong end to the domestic campaign, notably playing a starring role in the FA Cup final win over rivals Manchester City, and he will be eager to take that momentum into the Euros.

The 29-year-old, who notched ten goals and registered eight assists in 35 Premier League appearances this term, came off the bench against Finland to grab himself a brace and he could be handed a starting role on Saturday.

The first of those two goals came from outside the area, a superb finish into the top-right corner and he is sure to let fly from distance if given the space and time by Croatia.

At 12/1 to net from outside the area, Fernandes is a value play.

Marcelo Brozovic to have over 0.5 shots - 5/4

While Croatia may not be busting a gut in their final friendly before the Euros, that is not to say they won't look to create openings and the 5/4 on Marcelo Brozovic to have at least one shot is hard to ignore.

The 31-year-old midfielder had 33 attempts for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League this season, averaging 1.19 shots per match, and you'd expect him to pop off at least one effort against Portugal.

Brozovic was an unused substitute for the victory over North Macedonia and he is expected to be given a start for this friendly, as he looks to get in prime shape for the tournament opener.
