Steve Clarke’s Scotland will look to conclude their League A Group 1 campaign in the UEFA Nations League on a high when they meet Poland in Warsaw on Monday night.
The Scots and the Poles are both level on four points from their opening five games but Poland are ahead in the standings thanks to their 3-2 victory at Hampden Park back in September.
That game was a thrilling clash in Glasgow, with a 90th-minute penalty for Poland ultimately proving the difference.
Robert Lewandowski got on the scoresheet in that five-goal thriller in Glasgow but the Barcelona striker won’t be available for Monday's clash due to back injury.
Without their talisman up front, this could be an opportunity for Scotland to not only avoid relegation but even potentially make the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals.
Scotland to win - 9/4
On the back of a 1-0 win over Croatia at Hampden Park last time out, Clarke’s side should have been given a confidence boost ahead of their trip to Warsaw.
John McGinn’s 86th-minute winner sent the home fans into raptures and saw Croatia, who had Petar Sucic sent off in the first half, leave Glasgow with nothing to show for their efforts.
Having drawn 0-0 with Portugal and beaten Croatia in their last two games, the Scots head into Monday’s encounter with positive form.
The same cannot be said for Poland, who were thrashed 5-1 by Portugal in their last outing, meaning they are now winless since that late victory at Hampden.
Losing three and drawing one of their last four matches, it’s hard to see Poland having the confidence to get anything from this game and the Scots are good value for the three points in Warsaw.
Over 3.5 total goals - 12/5
Poland’s poor form has been simply down to conceding too many goals, with the Poles conceding 14 in their first five games of this group stage.
Conceding 11 goals in their last three games, the Poles have looked incredibly shaky at the back and Scotland should be confident of exploiting the hosts’ weaknesses on Monday.
A 5-1 thrashing to Portugal, on the back of a 3-3 draw with Croatia and a 3-1 loss again to the Portuguese, has been a poor run for this Polish defence.
With that in mind, and considering five goals were scored the last time these two sides met in September, siding with over 3.5 total goals catches the eye at 12/5.
Scott McTominay anytime goalscorer - 15/4
Rarely do Scotland’s goals come from strikers, so it pays to look at the midfield as the source of goals for Monday night.
Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has shone for his country over the last couple of years under Clarke, having previously been used as a centre-back at times.
Now a player looking to make late bursts into the box, McTominay scored the last time these sides met at Hampden.
Already with two Serie A goals in nine appearances with his new club Napoli, McTominay is a player in decent form and looks to be good value at 15/4 to find the back of the net in Monday night’s showdown at Stadion Narodowy.
