Poland v Estonia: How to watch, TV channel, kick-off time, head-to-head stats and team news

Poland and Estonia both failed to qualify for the Euros via the conventional method but both have been given a second bite of the cherry due to their respective performances in the Nations League.

The Poles came in third in qualifying Group E with 11 points from their eight games as they finished up behind Albania and the Czech Republic.

Estonia endured a miserable qualification bid as they picked up just one point from their eight games, conceding 22 goals and scoring just twice themselves in the process. However, the fact they won promotion from League D to C in the last Nations League campaign means they have a chance to head to Germany this summer.

Poland are unbeaten in their last four games with two wins and two draws and they finished the Euro 2024 group stages with five points from their final three games.

The Biało-Czerwoni came through the group stages without losing a home game as they managed eight points from their four fixtures and their last competitive defeat at home came in September of 2022, when they lost 2-0 to the Netherlands at this venue.

Poland v Estonia team news

Poland team news

Robert Lewandowski will captain the Poland side and the majority of their big name players have been included in the squad, with the likes of keeper Wojciech Szczęsny, experienced pair Kamil Grosicki and Piotr Zieliński and striker Krzysztof Piątek all involved.

There is one notable absentee for Poland as striker Arkadiusz Milik misses out. The 30-year-old sat out of Juventus’ game against Genoa at the weekend due to injury and won’t feature for his country on Thursday, while midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak did feature during the group stages but has since retired.

Jagiellonia Białystok’s Dominik Marczuk is the only uncapped player in the Poland squad and the 20-year-old wideman will be hoping to make his debut during the international break, either against Estonia or the play-off final against either Wales or Finland next week.

Estonia team news

Rauno Sappinen scored both of Estonia’s goals during the Euro 2024 group stages but he is not in the latest squad as at present he remains a free agent, with his last appearance coming for Israeli outfit Hapoel Jerusalem back in August.

Veteran midfielder Konstantin Vassiljev will captain the side, while Martin Vetkal and Oliver Jürgens could be worth keeping an eye on.

Vetkal currently plays for Serie A side Roma but the 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the Italian outfit.

Striker Jurgens, also 20, has been capped twice by Estonia and plays his club football in Slovakia for Dunajská Streda.
