Partick Thistle v Queen's Park: Prediction, Tips and Odds

There's more than one derby in Glasgow and on Saturday afternoon Partick Thistle and Queen's Park will lock horns with three Scottish Championship points on the line at Firhill.

The home side are four points and one place better off than the visitors in the league table and will aim to use their game in hand to close in on the top three as they look to push for promotion.

Queen's Park have as many league defeats as they do wins after 18 games and have been struggling recently.

Partick Thistle v Queen's Park betting tips and predictions

Partick Thistle to win – 8/11

The home side arrive into this Glasgow derby in fine form and Kris Doolan's side are fancied to come out on top at Firhill.

The Jags have gathered 13 points from the last 18 available to them, with their only setback in that run coming against second-placed Livingston at the Toni Macaroni Arena.

Around that 0-2 defeat have come wins over Hamilton Accies, Ayr and Airdrieonians. They have played a game less than the three teams above them in the table and Thistle know they need to get maximum points against opponents that have lost four of the last five games in the Championship.

Thistle are unbeaten in their nine home games in the league this season, with five wins and four draws, and they haven't lost any of the previous 11 head-to-heads with Queen's Park in 90 minutes.

Brian Graham to score first – 4/1

Veteran forward Brian Graham has really found his scoring touch in and around his 37th birthday.

He hit that landmark in November and preceded it with three goals in two games against Raith Rovers and Hamilton Accies. He also found the net last-time-out against Airdrieonians at the Albert Bartlett Stadium.

That made it four goals in his last five starts and two of them have been deadlock breakers. He has a decent track record against Queen's Park, finding the net four times in 15 appearances against the Spiders.

He has been leading the line in recent weeks to excellent effect, with Scott Robinson the foil in behind, and the strong Indian summer he's been enjoying could continue with the opener in this festive derby.

Over 10 corners – 1/1

Partick Thistle's previous three league outings have all gone into double figures for corners and that looks to be on again now.

Queen's Park have notched eight corners in their defeats against Raith and Hamilton lately, while they had a dozen before that in the win over Airdrie at home.

Eight of the last 11 meetings between these two have gone over 3.5 goals in the 90 minutes, while all bar one of those encounters went over the 2.5 goal mark.

There promises to be plenty of end-to-end attacking surges and some last ditch defending, ensuring the corner count looks set to get into double figures with likely decent contributions from both teams.
