Paris Saint-Germain v Borussia Dortmund: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Niclas Fullkrug was the hero as Borussia Dortmund sealed a 1-0 first-leg advantage in their Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Germany striker broke the PSG offside trap before controlling smartly and driving home past Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 36th minute of last Wednesday's match.

European champions in 1996/97, Der BVB did well to contain Les Parisens but the Parc des Princes is likely to be rocking as the hosts look to battle back on Tuesday.

Dortmund may lead 1-0 on aggregate but are the 11/10 underdogs to qualify, with PSG the 4/6 favourites to progress, as was the case when the German outfit led by a single goal in the last 16 in 2019/20, only for Les Parisiens to win 2-0 on home soil.

Luis Enrique's side could come through an enthralling encounter, with the winner facing either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich at Wembley on Saturday 1st June.

Paris Saint-Germain v Borussia Dortmund betting tips and predictions

Paris Saint-Germain to win and both teams to score @ 13/8

Edin Terzic set his Dortmund side up perfectly at home, positioning them deep and exploiting PSG's high line, with defender Nico Schlotterbeck's ball over the top finding Fullkrug for the goal.

Terzic's team should be fresh after rotating for Saturday's 5-1 win over Augsburg and it should be a similar story for PSG, who had the weekend off.

The hosts won 2-0 when the pair met in the group stages but could be vulnerable without the injured Lucas Hernandez.

Fullkrug and the dangerous dribbling duo of Jadon Sancho and Karim Adeyemi, who is expected to recover from a knock, will likely target Hernandez's young replacement, Lucas Beraldo.

A 2-1 scoreline at 13/2, which would take the tie to extra time, or 3-1 at 10/1 might not be bad bets to look out for and PSG are taken to win in 90 minutes, although they may need extra time and beyond to reach their second Champions League final.

Goncalo Ramos last PSG goalscorer @ 9/4

All eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe after a mixed evening in Germany, with this expected to be his final European home game before leaving Les Parisiens in the summer for potential final opponents Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old usually rises to the occasion, but a colleague could outshine him, with Goncalo Ramos PSG's form man in attack.

Ramos has had to wait his turn since signing last summer from Benfica and didn't even get on at the Westfalstadion.

The Portuguese hitman may receive minutes on Tuesday and has scored five goals in six outings since returning to PSG after the March international break.

Ramos has been particularly sharp at the Parc des Princes, scoring in his team's last six home games. The Portugal striker has struck his team's final goal in their last five at home in Ligue 1 and he could be the hero again.

Ian Maatsen to be booked - 7/4

Ian Maatsen has excelled since joining Dortmund on loan from Chelsea in January, quickly establishing himself as the side's first-choice left-back.

However, his best moments have come in attack and he doesn't always display the same enthusiasm when chasing back towards his own goal.

This has led to him already serving a Bundesliga suspension for accumulating five yellow cards. He was also booked in the away quarter-final defeat to Atletico and last week's first leg for a late lunge on Warren Zaire-Emery.

PSG are expected to try to draw Dortmund out by opening the game up and playing into space. This could leave Der BVB short at the back and makes Maatsen an obvious candidate to receive another card.
