Panama enjoyed a perfect run through the group stages of the Gold Cup, claiming expected wins over Guadeloupe and Guatemala before thumping Jamaica 4-1 to finish top of their group.
Honduras began their bid with a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of co-hosts Canada, but picked up wins over El Salvador and Curacao to secure their spot in the knockout stages, where they face Los Canaleros for a place in the last four.

Panama are justifiably favourites after cruising through the group stages, but the better angle could be backing both teams to score at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
After a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of co-hosts Canada, Honduras have scored four goals across their last two games and they rarely draw a blank - having only failed to score in three of their last 19 games.
Panama conceded twice against Guadeloupe and once against Jamaica in the group stages, so their defence does look a little suspect.
Therefore, both of these teams looking capable of getting on the scoresheet in what should be a fairly close quarter-final tie.
Warren Ashurst explains:
Honduras are the clear underdogs here but they should be able to keep this game competitive and get on the scoresheet. Both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings between these two sides.

Goals at both ends is expected, but Panama finished as the runners-up in the last edition of the Gold Cup in 2023 and they have enough quality to outgun Honduras as they look to book a spot in the last four.
Los Canaleros have picked up some eye-catching results over the last few months and they come into this game seeking to extend a five-fame winning streak.
Panama have a Nations League win over United States on their list of achievements in 2025 and their only competitive loss this year was a narrow one-goal defeat to Mexico, while Honduras were clearly outclassed when losing to Canada in their opener and tend to struggle against a better standard of opponent.
If Panama are to reach the semi-finals it may be thanks to the heroics of star forward Ismael Díaz.
He hit a hat-trick in the win over Jamaica after grabbing two goals against Guadeloupe. The forward will also be on spot-kick duties and he looks the standout candidate for an anytime effort.

Warren Ashurst adds:
Honduras should be able to get a goal but that may well prove to be a consolation effort. Panama winger Diaz plays his club football in Chile with Universidad Católica and is used to facing better defences than he’ll come up against here.

Panama have no injury or suspension issues and head coach Thomas Christiansen should stick with a 4-2-3-1 formation for this last eight tie.
Ismael Diaz and Tomas Abdiel Rodriguez Mena have scored eight of Panama’s 10 tournament goals between them and will once again be the danger men for Los Canaleros.
Expected Panama line-up (4-2-3-1): Mosquera; Blackman, Escobar, Cordoba, Gutierrez; Godoy, Griffith; Londono, Martinez, Diaz; Rodriguez.
Honduras operated in a 4-2-3-1 system in their opening two games, but switched to a 4-1-4-1 system against Curacao.
A return to their initial formation looks likely for this knockout game, using two holding midfielders in a bid to keep Panama's attack quiet.
Los Catrachos also have a clean bill of health for this game.
Expected Honduras line-up (4-2-3-1): Menjivar; Crisanto, Maldonado, Martinez, Rosales; Arriaga, Flores; Rodriguez, Alvarez, Quioto; Benguche.
