The UEFA Conference League gets underway this week, completing the set of major club competitions, and amongst the Matchday One fare is Viking Reykjavik's trip to Cyprus to face Omonia Nicosia.
As with the other UEFA club competitions, the Conference League is now entering a new dawn, with a 36-team league phase where every team plays six games before the knockout rounds begin.
Omonia Nicosia are taking part in their second Conference League group stage, while Viking Reykjavik are first-timers.
Omonia Nicosia v Viking Reykjavik will be available to watch live on Discovery+ in the UK.
Omonia Nicosia v Viking Reykjavik kicks off at 17:45 BST on Thursday 3rd October and is being played at the GSP Stadium in Strovolos, Cyprus.
Omonia Nicosia are the second-most successful club in Cypriot football and came through three qualifying rounds to get this far.
They have won four of their five domestic league games so far, but their record in European club group stage games shows only one win from 17 attempts in recent seasons.
Viking were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers by Irish champions Shamrock Rovers before clearing three rounds of qualifying to get to this stage.
With 24 games played domestically, they are in a tense Icelandic title race with Breidablik, goal difference currently splitting them.
These two clubs have never met before in a competitive fixture.
Goals from Andronikos Kakoullis and a brace from Senou Coulibaly helped Omonia turn around an early deficit in their home game with AEL Limassol at the weekend as they responded from a setback at Anorthosis previously - their only domestic loss so far.
Manager Valdas Dambrauskas doesn't appear to have any injury worries after that outing.
Valdimar Thór Ingimundarson scored three times in helping Viking Reykjavik come through their qualifiers to reach this stage.
The 25-year-old Iceland international also scored in the weekend win over Valur.
Danish-born midfielder Tarik Ibrahimagic netted a brace there, including a stoppage-time winner and they are key performers for coach Arnar Gunnlaugsson.
