Argentina got back on track following their opening loss to Morocco when beating Iraq 3-1 on Saturday and they will be looking to secure a place in the quarter-finals by dispatching Ukraine on Tuesday.
Ukraine know a win would see them through, though, as every team in Group B is tied on three points heading into the final game, making this clash an intriguing one with plenty to play for.
Ukraine’s clash with Argentina can be watched live on Eurosport 5 and Discovery+ in the United Kingdom.
The match will kick off at 16:00 BST on Tuesday 30th July at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon, France.
Both of these sides are sat on three points in Group B, meaning there is everything to play for in this final group-stage game.
Ukraine opened their tournament with a disappointing loss to Iraq before pulling off a shock of their own by beating Morocco 2-1 on Saturday, despite being reduced to 10 men in the 63rd minute.
Argentina did the opposite, losing 2-1 to Morocco before beating Iraq 3-1, making this clash a difficult one to call.
Both teams have scored in all four of the pair’s combined games at this year’s Olympics, though, suggesting plenty of goals could be on the cards in Lyon.
This will be the first ever meeting between the nation’s under-23 sides, although the men’s teams met once in 2016, with Argentina running out 1-0 winners after extra-time on that occasion.
Volodymyr Salyuk is suspended after receiving two yellow cards against Morocco, with LASK Linz defender Maksym Talovierov the likeliest candidate to replace him.
Ruslan Rotan is unlikely to make any further changes after his side’s impressive 2-1 win over the Atlas Lions.
Lucas Beltran was forced off with an injury against Iraq and is subsequently a doubt for this clash. Guiliano Simeone, who came off the bench to score against Morocco in Argentina’s opener, will likely partner Julian Alvarez in attack should Beltran miss this match.
It was a much-improved performance from Argentina against Iraq and Javier Mascherano, like Rotan, is unlikely to tinker too much with his winning starting XI beyond any enforced changes.
