Both France and Canada started with victories at the women’s Olympic football tournament and they face off for top spot in the group this weekend.
An off-field storm is hanging over the Canadian side which threatens to tarnish their gold medal win from Tokyo three years ago. Can they rally and upset the host nation?

France Women v Canada Women kicks-off at 20:00 BST on Sunday 28th July. The game will be played at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint Etienne.
France have the upper hand across the previous meetings between the two sides, winning seven of the 13 clashes between them.
The French have also won five of the last six meetings, dating back to 2015. However, Canada’s sole victory in that stretch did come at the 2016 Olympic Games.

France raced into a 3-0 lead over Colombia in their opener and no changes are expected to the starting lineup for this clash.
Assistant coach Andy Spence is set to remain in charge after head coach Bev Priestman was suspended following the 2-1 victory over New Zealand.
Spence picked the team for that opening victory and he made changes that turned the game around after New Zealand’s opener. Evelyne Viens came off the bench to score the winner and is pushing for a starting spot.
