Notts County are going along nicely as they look to get promoted out of League Two and they will be hungry to bounce back from a defeat to leaders Walsall in their last game at Meadow Lane.
Visitors Swindon have been floundering at the wrong end of the table for most of the season, but they had a decent end to 2024 and could cause the Magpies a few problems
Notts County to win at over 2.5 goals - 7/5
While Walsall head into the weekend 12 points clear in League Two, the race for promotion is looking wild with just six points separating second-placed Wimbledon and MK Dons in 12th, and Notts County, who sit seventh, are right in the thick of the action.
The Magpies fell to a 2-1 home defeat to the Saddlers last time out, but they won their previous three games, which should give them confidence for Saturday’s visit from Swindon.
County had kept four straight home clean sheets before that loss, but with six of their last seven matches finishing with at least three goals, that pattern looks set to continue.
The Robins have improved since Ian Holloway was appointed manager in October and they suffered a defeat in just one of their last six fixtures.
Admittedly, a 3-2 success at Cheltenham has been their only league win on the road, but 1-1 draws at Wimbledon and Bromley suggest they can make their mark on the banks of the Trent.
Their hosts should come out on top and it is worth backing there to be more than two goals as both teams have scored in 12 of Swindon’s last 14 league games.
Alassana Jatta to score at any time - 6/4
Notts County striker Alassana Jatta looks a player to watch and it is worth putting your faith in the Gambian striker to boost his seasonal tally of 10 goals.
He was on target in the loss to Walsall, when Notts were unable to build upon the lead he handed them, and he also struck twice in the 3-0 victory over Bradford on 21st December.
A total of 13 efforts on target in his last eight games demonstrates there are no issues with his confidence and this looks an excellent opportunity for him to once again show he has an eye for goal.
Over 5.5 Notts County corners - 4/5
Notts County stand sixth in the League Two corner rankings, but they go to the top of the pile when only home flag-kicks are accounted for and there is a decent chance they can rack up a few against Swindon on Saturday.
The Magpies have earned an average of 6.9 per match in every game they have played at Meadow Lane this season, which comes to 5.7 generally and 4.77 when they are on the road.
It is probably unwise to go long on match corners as County will probably have to do most of the heavy lifting against a team who have earned an average of four corners on their travels, but with Swindon conceding a mean figure of 5.46 per away match, there seems a strong chance County can get at least six.
