Nottingham Forest v Tottenham Hotspur Prediction: Third time lucky for 2/1 Spurs

Two sides awaiting their first win of the new campaign meet at the City Ground on Saturday, when Nottingham Forest host Tottenham Hotspur.

Oliver Glasner's Forest bounced back from a disappointing 1-0 home loss to Leeds United to twice go ahead against Liverpool at Anfield, only to be pegged back twice and settle for a 2-2 draw.

But in contrast, Tottenham are off to a shocker having played two, lost two, mercilessly thrashed 3-0 at Brentford and then beaten 2-0 at home by Newcastle United.

Roberto De Zerbi is pinning his hopes on a panic-stricken summer squad overhaul to revive Tottenham's ailing fortunes - and needs that turnaround in fortunes to start quickly.

Nottingham Forest v Tottenham Hotspur Tips Summary

Best Bet - Tottenham Hotspur to win @ 2/1
Alternative Bet - Pedro Porro 1+ shots on target @ 12/5
Bet Builder - Over 10 Corners, Igor Jesus 2+ fouls committed & Antonin Kinsky 3+ saves @ 6/1

Nottingham Forest v Tottenham Hotspur Prediction

Best Bet: Tottenham Hotspur to win @ 2/1

Tottenham have no points and no goals but there are grounds for thinking they can chalk up their first win of the Premier League season in Nottingham.

Undoubtedly poor at Brentford in their opening-weekend 3-0 loss, they duly thrashed Charlton 5-1 in the EFL Cup and then looked really bright for a half at home to Newcastle last weekend.

In the first 45 minutes they had eight shots, four on target, six corners, were making tackles, they bossed possession and the crowd were behind them. And then half-time came and the match changed.

The Magpies struck twice in the second half to punish Spurs' profligacy and inevitably De Zerbi and some of his players got it in the neck.

The fact is they look better straight away than the team which finished 17th last season and can demonstrate those improvements by landing the odds at the City Ground, where Forest's sole league win since Christmas was against relegated Burnley.

Alternative Bet: Pedro Porro 1+ shots on target @ 12/5

Pedro Porro's right-wing role is only a temporary one - indeed he could be restored at right-back as soon as this Saturday.

But Porro has been a key figure for Spurs going forward with one shot off the bench in the 5-1 win over Charlton and four efforts - one on target - in the loss to Newcastle.

He looks a fabulous bet to get at least one shot on target.

Nottingham Forest v Tottenham Hotspur Bet Builder Tip

  • Over 10 corners

  • Igor Jesus 2+ fouls committed

  • Antonin Kinsky 3+ saves

    Pays 6/1

There has to be an urgency about Spurs who need to start winning but at the very least need to start impressing.

There have been 26 corners in their two games to date - they had nine against Newcastle. Make over 10 corners the base layer of this bet builder.

Make the second leg Igor Jesus to commit 2+ fouls.

The Brazilian picked up his first yellow of the season last week while committing four fouls against Liverpool and he can over-reach defending from the front.

Spurs keeper Antonin Kinsky made five saves on his last away day in the 3-0 loss at Brentford, so expect the maligned gloveman to make three or more again.
