Nottingham Forest v Manchester City: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Manchester City will be hoping to maintain their Premier League title charge when they visit a Nottingham Forest side in need of the points at the other end of the table on Sunday.

City head into the weekend sitting a point and a place behind league leaders Arsenal but with their title hopes very much in their own hands, as they also boast a game in hand on the Gunners.

Forest are in need of the points for very different reasons, with Nuno Espirito Santo's side beginning this round of fixtures sitting just a point above the relegation zone.

Nottingham Forest v Manchester City betting tips and predictions

Manchester City to win and both teams to score - 15/8

As they appear to do every season, City have hit their stride at exactly the right time in the Premier League title race, as they are on an 18-match unbeaten run in the division, winning 14 of those games, with their last defeat coming away to Aston Villa in early December.

That 1-0 reverse at Villa Park is also the last time Pep Guardiola has seen his side lose in any competition in regulation time - a run of 30 matches - although that does include their penalty shootout defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Thursday's 4-0 win at Brighton was also City's fourth league win on the spin and they have scored at least four goals in all of those successes.

However, the clean-sheet they secured at The Amex did buck a recent trend, as City had conceded in three consecutive league matches before that, letting in one in the home victories over Aston Villa and Luton and two in their road win at Crystal Palace.

That will give Nottingham Forest hope of at least getting on the scoresheet on Sunday and Nuno's team have netted in five of their last six games, although it is at the other end of the pitch where they are having problems, as they are without a clean-sheet in 10 matches across all competitions, a sequence that is unlikely to be broken against City.

Forest did claim a 1-1 draw against the Citizens in last season's corresponding fixture and the Tricky Trees can certainly make life difficult for the visitors this weekend, but ultimately Guardiola's side should come out on top.

Jeremy Doku to score or assist - 11/10

Sunday's trip to the City Ground will be City's eighth match in April across three competitions and comes just three days after they were winning on the south coast against Brighton.

With the games continuing to come thick and fast, Guardiola may be tempted to make changes to his starting XI, with the likes of Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku hoping to earn recalls.

Belgium international Doku has enjoyed a fine first season in City colours, netting six goals and providing eight assists across all competitions.

Three of those goal involvements have come across his last two Premier League starts against Aston Villa and Luton and it is 11/10 that he provides another goal or assist this weekend.

Morgan Gibbs-White to be booked - 13/5

Morgan Gibbs-White has been a key player for Forest this season with 12 Premier League goal contributions and he could be imperative to their chances of beating the drop.

However, it may not be goals or assists he is providing against City, with the former England under-21 international also having a tendency for attracting the attention of referees.

No Forest player has picked up more Premier League yellow cards this season than Gibbs-White's total of nine, two of which have come in his last three appearances against former club Wolves and Tottenham.

A creative force that likes to play the game on the edge, Gibbs-White could get frustrated if Forest are losing this contest and the 13/5 for him to be booked in the match may offer good value.
