Norwich City have parted company with manager Johannes Hoff Thorup following three straight defeats in the Championship, with first-team coach Jack Wilshere placed in interim charge.
Appointed Norwich City manager on a three-year deal in May 2024, Dane Thorup has been relieved of his duties at Carrow Road with the Canaries languishing in 14th place in the Championship table following a run of five matches without a win.
Norwich City sporting director Ben Knapper told the club's official website:
Whilst we made this appointment with a long-term focus and in line with our wider club strategy and direction, unfortunately recent results and performances have deemed it necessary for us to make a change.
"I'd like to place on record our sincere thanks to Johannes and Glen [assistant manager], they are both fantastic people who worked tirelessly to help improve and move our football club forward," Knapper added.
Ex-Nordsjaelland manager Thorup departs Norwich having won only 14 of 47 competitive matches in charge - recording a win ratio of just 29.79%.
Ex-Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has been placed in temporary charge for Norwich's final two Championship matches of the season against Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.
Wilshere will be assisted by fellow existing backroom staff members Tony Roberts and Nick Stanley.
33-year-old Wilshere began his coaching career immediately after retiring as a player in July 2022, taking charge of Arsenal's Under 18s side.
Wilshere made his first foray into coaching at senior men's level when joining Thorup's staff as first-team coach at Norwich City in October 2024.
