Northampton Town v Wycombe Wanderers: How to watch, TV channel, kick-off time, head-to-head stats and team news

League One rivals Northampton Town and Wycombe Wanderers both suffered defeats in their opening league fixtures, so they will be hoping to bounce back in Tuesday's EFL Cup first-round tie.

The Cobblers suffered an early exit in round one last year, whereas the Chairboys lost out in the second round against lower league opponents Sutton United, both sides will hope for a more competitive outing in the EFL Cup this season.

Wycombe have had the upper hand in recent meetings with Northampton, winning five of their last six clashes in normal time.

The exception was a 1-1 EFL Cup draw in August 2018, when Wycombe won 7-6 on penalties, while they did the double over the Cobblers in League One last season.

An early Gareth McCleary goal gave Wanderers a 1-0 win at Sixfields, before Matt Butcher's second-half brace sealed a 2-0 home victory in March.

Town, who have not reached the third round of the EFL Cup since 2016/17, lost 1-0 at Bristol Rovers in their opening League One fixture on Saturday, while Wycombe went down 3-2 at Wrexham.
