Last season's Premier League meeting between Newcastle and West Ham at St James' Park was an absolute cracker as the Magpies came from 3-1 down to win 4-3.

Alexander Isak had given the hosts a sixth-minute lead before the Hammers staged a comeback of their own, but the visitors may stumble out of the traps on Monday.

They have conceded the first goal in 11 of their last 13 Premier League away matches and they have had a tough time on the road recently.

A 5-1 EFL Cup defeat to Liverpool at Anfield was followed by a 1-1 draw at Brentford, a 4-1 loss at Tottenham and a 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

That run of results has turned up the heat on manager Lopetegui, who only arrived in the summer, and West Ham are 5/1 to stop the rot with a victory at Newcastle.

The Magpies were in impressive form before the international break, beating Chelsea 2-0 in the EFL Cup before a 1-0 home win over Arsenal and a 3-1 victory at high-flying Nottingham Forest.

Both of Newcastle's goals in the cup win against Chelsea came in the first 26 minutes and in-form striker Isak scored the decisive goal in the 12th minute against Arsenal.

Those fast starts, coupled with West Ham's tendency to concede early goals, point to a bet on Newcastle to be leading at half-time and full-time on Monday.

Tomas Soucek to have over 1.5 shots @ 1/1

West Ham will be missing suspended duo Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez at St James' Park, while Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug remains sidelined for the visitors.

Those absences may mean a more attacking role in the team for Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek, who is worth backing to have at least two shots at goal.

Soucek poses an aerial threat from set-piece situations, but he also gets into dangerous positions in open play.

He had eight shots in his first two Premier League appearances of the campaign, scoring in August's 2-0 win at Crystal Palace, and also found the net against Brentford at the end of September.

Soucek racked up three attempts at goal in October's 4-1 home win over Ipswich and could be one of West Ham's main hopes for a goal at St James' Park. 

Fabian Schar to have over 1.5 shots @ 6/4

Newcastle have plenty of in-form attacking players, with star striker Isak supported by wingers Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes, as well as Brazilian midfielders Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes.

Centre-back Fabian Schar also has an eye for goal and he looks a nice price to have two or more shots against a leaky Irons side.

Like Soucek, Schar is an obvious aerial target from corners and free-kicks and his long-range shooting is another string to his bow.

The Swiss international has had at least one shot in eight of his nine league appearances this term and he had two efforts at goal against Wolves, Fulham and Chelsea.

The betting suggests Newcastle are likely to dominate Monday's contest, so Schar should get the opportunity to showcase his attacking ability.
