Champions Manchester City should secure victory at Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday to maintain their unbeaten start to the new season.
Manchester City to win and both teams to score - 7/4
City made a flying start to the season with four wins from their first four games to underline they will once again be the side all the others will have to try and stop.
Victories over Chelsea, Ipswich, West Ham and Brentford saw them move smoothly to the top of the table early on, with fearsome striker Erling Haaland the star of the show, scoring nine goals, including back-to-back hat-tricks against the Tractor Boys and the Hammers.
Pep Guardiola's side dropped their first points of the campaign last weekend when they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by expected title rivals Arsenal, although it would have been a defeat but for John Stones' injury-time equaliser in a pulsating clash at the Etihad.
Key midfielder Rodri sustained a serious knee injury in the draw and is set to be on the sidelined for an extended period, but City's strength in depth means they should be able to cope without the Spain international.
A much-changed side edged out Watford in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, winning 2-1, and they will head to St James' Park confident of making it five wins from six in the Premier League against a Magpies outfit who are in sixth place following a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Fulham.
Eddie Howe's men began the campaign well, with three wins from their first four games, but last weekend's setback at Craven Cottage demonstrated they have plenty of work to do if they want to seriously compete for a top-four place.
The Magpies have scored in all five of their matches this season, hitting seven in total, and they have the attacking talent to at least get on the scoresheet on Saturday with the likes of Harvey Barnes, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon all capable of hurting City.
It is also worth noting that Guardiola's men have only kept one clean sheet in the league so far, so a repeat of a City victory with both teams scoring, which was the outcome against Ipswich, West Ham and Brentford, appeals.
Over 3.5 goals - 6/5
Recent league meetings between these two sides at St James' Park have been thrilling affairs, with last season's clash ending 3-2 to City, while the previous season it ended all square at 3-3 when the visitors came back from 3-1 down to earn a point.
Saturday's game is expected to be another entertaining occasion with plenty of action at both ends.
There have been at least four goals in three of City's five matches so far and the attacking talent in both camps means we should expect more of the same in the north east.
Haaland's sensational goalscoring exploits have been well documented, but City also have Kevin de Bruyne, Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden who regularly chip in with goals, while Newcastle's threat should come from Isak, Barnes and Gordon.
Anthony Gordon - Over 0.5 shots on target - 11/10
Gordon has only managed one goal this season, scoring in the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth, but the England man has been lively for the Magpies and remains one of their most important players.
The former Everton man has had a total of seven shots for Howe's side in the early weeks of the campaign, with three of those being on target and he will look to add to that tally against City.
Despite usually going on to claim victory, City have been offering teams chances, particularly early on in games, and Gordon could be one of the Newcastle players to take advantage.
