Newcastle United suffered a setback when they were beaten 4-1 in their last home Premier League game against Bournemouth, and they will be hungry to get back on track on their own patch when Fulham make the trip to the north east.
The Cottagers have not been the greatest of top-flight travellers, but they have scored eight goals in their last four road matches, so expect them to contribute to what should be an entertaining clash.
Newcastle United to win & both teams to score - 21/10
Newcastle United have won seven of their last eight Premier League matches and have strong ambitions of returning to the Champions League next season, which they should enhance when they entertain Fulham on Saturday.
The Magpies suffered a surprise 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth in their last game at S James’ Park, but a trip to bottom-of-the-table Southampton last week was ideally timed and they should be back in the groove after a 3-1 win on the south coast.
Eddie Howe’s side have the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final against Arsenal to look forward to - they won the first match 2-0 at the Emirates - and there is a strong chance they go into that having collected their seventh home league win of the campaign, but Fulham are unlikely to lie down and the betting value lies with backing a home win with both teams scoring.
Marco Silva’s Cottagers have found the net in their last 10 road league matches and were unfortunate to fall to a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United last week.
Eight goals in four away games should give them plenty of confidence and while Newcastle can gain revenge for the 3-1 loss they suffered at Craven Cottage in September, a home clean sheet is not guaranteed.
Alexander Isak to score at any time - 20/21
Alexander Isak had a frustrating time in his early days at Newcastle, but he has stepped up to the next level this season and is realising the potential he showed at Real Sociedad before he joined the Magpies.
He has taken his league tally to 17 and only Mo Salah and Erling Haaland are ahead of him in the race for the Golden Boot.
The Swedish striker has netted in seven of his last eight games - the exception was the home defeat to Bournemouth - and scored 11 goals in that run of matches, including a brace at Southampton last week, so the Fulham defence could be in for a difficult afternoon dealing with the Swedish hitman.
Sasa Lukic to be booked - 6/4
The threshold for one-match bans being handed out for the accumulation of five bookings has passed, but Fulham midfielder Sasa Lukic is on a tightrope as another caution would see him get to 10 and be handed a two-match suspension.
There looks to be a decent chance he will pick that up at St James’ Park as seven of his nine yellow cards have come in away matches.
One of his two cautions at Craven Cottage came in September’s reverse fixture when he played only the first 45 minutes but committed three fouls, so it would not be a huge surprise if he reached double figures in Newcastle on Saturday.
