Netherlands v Austria Prediction, Tips and Odds: Sabitzer to dictate against Oranje

Austria return to the scene of their fine victory over Poland and they could spring a surprise against the Netherlands in Berlin on Tuesday evening.

The Oranje and Das Team find themselves in strong positions to progress to the last 16 after a solid opening week in Group D.

Both nations have beaten Poland and both tested France, the Austrians going down 1-0 and the Dutch left cursing a disallowed goal in a goalless draw.

Netherlands v Austria betting tips and predictions

Austria draw no bet - 6/4

21/10 offered for the draw shows that there isn't seen to be much between Group D rivals Netherlands and Austria and that a draw would definitely take both nations into the last 16.

The Dutch have got four points to their name courtesy of a 2-1 win over Poland and 0-0 draw with France, though they feel they should be on six points after Xavi Simons had a goal controversially chalked off against Les Bleus.

Austria also performed well against the French, but lost 1-0 before bouncing back to beat Poland 3-1 at the Olympiastadion.

And Ralf Rangnick's men will be hoping the good vibes from that win carry them through as they return to Berlin for this final group assignment.

Austria are certainly impressing under Rangnick, who has dealt with the absences of key men David Alaba and Xavier Schlager and happened upon a 4-2-3-1 set-up which brings out the best in his team.

And it's a team he isn't afraid to change match by match.

Even in the defeat by France they had more possession, more corners, more passes and more attacks but lacked any real composure in key areas.

Interestingly, the Dutch saw far less of the ball and had far fewer attacks against the French, but because they drew (and were deemed unlucky not to win) they seemed to earn more plaudits.

The Netherlands look rock-solid at the back with a defence supremely marshalled by the excellent Virgil van Dijk but the fluidity and versatility of the Austrian frontline - with Marcel Sabitzer and Christop Baumgartner in fine form behind Marko Arnautovic - will ask questions.

There is a case for thinking this could easily turn into a drab affair - 0-0 draws are scarce at this tournament but it's a result that would suit both teams fine., so under 2.5 goals at 10/11 could be value.

But it's Austria draw no bet at 6/4 which is preferred, factoring in that Das Team look somewhat under-rated, while having the draw no bet option as a safeguard.

Marcel Sabitzer Over 29.5 Passes - 5/6

Austria skipper Sabitzer has enjoyed a fabulous season for club and country and will be central to his side's chances of overcoming Netherlands.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder, a Champions League finalist, has looked hugely influential in both of Austria's group games so far.

He played 32 passes against France and 42 against Poland. He averaged 41 passes per game for Dortmund in the Bundesliga last season and can clear the 29.5 that his two-way passes have been pitched at.

Corner Matchbet - Austria - 6/4

Austria, as match outsiders, are also being under-rated in the corners market and look a bit of value at 6/4 to win that matchbet.

Rangnick's men have managed nine so far, three against the Poles, six against France. Netherlands have also managed nine in total.

Austria have only conceded six corners in their two matches, however, while the Dutch have conceded nine.
