Napoli v Inter Milan Predictions

Inter Milan to win - 29/20

Inter Milan can return to the top of the Serie A table with a victory against Napoli and the Nerazzurri's impressive away form suggests they may enjoy another successful trip.

After reaching last season's Champions League final, Inter have made a strong start to their domestic campaign, winning 10 of their first 13 matches - including five out of six on the road.

Their only dropped points away from home came in last weekend's 1-1 draw at title rivals Juventus and they showed their indefatigable spirit during an eventful midweek Champions League trip to Benfica.

Trailing 3-0 after 34 minutes in Portugal, Inter scored three second-half goals to earn a 3-3 draw, while Napoli lost 4-2 away to Real Madrid in Group C.

There is already an eight-point gap between Inter and Napoli after 13 Serie A fixtures and last season's champions have lost three of their first six home games - against Fiorentina, Lazio and lowly Empoli.

Napoli had to battle back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with AC Milan at the end of October and Inter's powerful midfield unit and red-hot strikers should be confident of troubling their hosts.

Lautaro Martinez to be first goalscorer - 5/1

Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Inter's Lautaro Martinez are the two most prolific goalscorers in Serie A since the start of last season and Martinez is worth backing to land the first blow on Sunday.

The Inter captain scored his side's equaliser against Juventus last time out, extending his magnificent start to the season to 13 goals in 13 Serie A appearances.

Eight of Martinez's league goals have come away from home, including all four in September's 4-0 win at Salernitana, and he is averaging 3.4 shots per game in Serie A and 4.4 in the Champions League.

Napoli have kept only two clean sheets in their last 10 games - against out-of-form Union Berlin in the Champions League and struggling Salernitana in the league - and they could find Inter's ace Argentinian striker too hot to handle.

Matteo Politano over 0.5 shots on target - 5/6

As well as Osimhen, Napoli pose an attacking threat through brilliant Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has contributed four goals and three assists in Serie A and is averaging 3.5 shots per game this season.

However, Matteo Politano's stats on the other flank are even more impressive, with five goals and three assists in just 10 league starts, and he is worth backing to have a shot on target against Inter.

Politano has racked up 16 shots at goal in his last five Serie A appearances. During that run he scored against Verona and AC Milan, had a shot on target and hit the woodwork against Salernitana, and also forced a save from the goalkeeper in the defeat to Empoli.

The Italy international found the net in Napoli's last home Champions League game against Union Berlin and he has an important role to play against in-form Inter.

Napoli Team News

Eljif Elmas could replace Piotr Zielinski, who suffered an injury in Wednesday's defeat to Real Madrid. Juan Jesus may start at left-back as Mathias Olivera and Mario Rui are sidelined.

Inter Milan Team News

Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez should continue their strike partnership, with veteran forwards Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic on the bench.

Defenders Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni are injured for the Nerazzurri.

Napoli v Inter Milan Stats

Both teams have scored in Napoli's last six home matches against Inter in all competitions.

Inter Milan have won nine of their last 11 Serie A away games.
